  • 1. Using Zinio on Your Computer A PAIN-FREE GUIDE
  • 2. Getting StartedYou will need: A WPL card A computer with internet access OR a public PC
  • 3.  Start by visiting waukeganpl.org/library- at-home/online-resourcesZinio  Click the link for Zinio at the bottom
  • 4.  Click Create Account!Zinio
  • 5.  Enter your email address, choose and confirm a password, and enter your nameZinio  Click Create Account
  • 6.  If your account has been created successfully, you will receive an emailZinio
  • 7.  Search for the magazine you would like to view  Search by keyword, title or genreZinio
  • 8.  Click the magazine’s cover imageZinio
  • 9.  Create a zinio.com account and click continueZinio
  • 10. Why two accounts?Zinio  The first account you created gives you access to magazines to which the library owns a subscription  The second account gives you the ability to check the magazines out from zinio.com
  • 11. Next, you can either:  choose to set personal preferences onZinio zinio.com and click submit OR  skip setting personal preferences
  • 12.  Click on the magazine cover to open itZinio  The magazine will open in a new window
  • 13.  The magazine appears exactly as it does in printZinio
  • 14.  Use the tools on the bottom left to print, manage your preferences, get help, or share what you’re readingZinio
  • 15.  Use the tools on the bottom right to view full screen, zoom in, skip to the table of contents, view pages as thumbnails, and turnZinio the page
  • 16.  Search the magazine for keywords using the box in bottom center  Results appear to the leftZinio
  • 17.  To delete a magazine, navigate to My Library on zinio.comZinio  Click edit
  • 18.  Click removeZinio
  • 19.  When you’re ready to check out another magazine, click Return toZinio Library Collection
  • 20. General Information Subscribe to as many magazines as you like from Zinio – if the library holds a subscription for it, you can read it for free! Magazines from Zinio do not expire, and they do not accrue overdue fines Only patrons with Waukegan Public Library cards can subscribe to magazines from Zinio Do you want a magazine to which the library does not currently subscribe? Suggest it to a librarian in person, online or by phone
