  • 2. <ul><li>Relief : This is the shape of the landforms , like the mountains and plains. </li></ul><ul><li>Rivers : They are continuous currents of water. The water in lakes, ponds, seas and oceans also affect the landscape. </li></ul><ul><li>Tributaries : A tributary or affluent is a steam or river which flows into a main stem or parent river or lake. </li></ul><ul><li>Climate : This is the atmospheric weather of an areal over a period of time. </li></ul><ul><li>Soil : It is the layer of ground where plants and animals live. </li></ul><ul><li>Vegetation : It is the group of plants that grow in an area. </li></ul><ul><li>Fauna : It is the group of animals that live in an area. </li></ul>Natural Landscapes
  • 3. <ul><li>Mountain : They are tall landforms. </li></ul><ul><li>Mountain range : Many mountains together . </li></ul><ul><li>Mountain chain : Many mountain ranges together. </li></ul>What´s a Mountain , Mountain range and Mountain chain?

  • 5. <ul><li>Somosierra : is localeted to the north of the Community of Madrid . The mountains are rounded due to erosion . Its highest peak is rock Onion with 2.129 meters. </li></ul><ul><li>Guadarrama : is located to the west of the Community of Madrid . Peñalara peak with 2.430 meters is the highest mountain in the Community . </li></ul><ul><li>Gredos : a part of this range extends southwest of the Community of Madrid . The hieght of Mirlon , with 1.770 meters , is its highest peak in our. </li></ul>Important mountains range in Comunidad de Madrid
  • 6. <ul><li>. Plains : They are large areas of flat relief. If the plains are very high , we call them plateaus. </li></ul>What are plains ?
  • 7. <ul><li>Vegas : Are flat next to the rivers . The vegas of the rivers Tajo, Tajuña and Jarama are the most importants. </li></ul><ul><li>Countryside : Are areas with clay soil. They found small elevations calls hills. Some countrysides are the Brunete and Algete. </li></ul><ul><li>Moors : Are flat areas with poor soils and high lime.   • 10. <ul><li>Course : This is the river’s path from its source to its mouth . It has three main sections : </li></ul><ul><li>- Upriver is the part of the path from its source to the plains . </li></ul><ul><li>- Mid- river is the part of the river that goes through the plains. The river can make curves called meanders . </li></ul><ul><li>- Downriver is the lowest and final part of the river’s path until it reaches the mouth. </li></ul><ul><li>Channel : The channel is the terrain the river flows through. </li></ul><ul><li>Water flow : This is the amount of water that a river carries. The changes in the water flow during the year is called flow regime . </li></ul>Elements of a river

Has tributaries , like the Henares , the Lozoya , the Tajuña , the Manzanares. </li></ul><ul><li>The Guadarrama born in the sierra de Guadarrama . </li></ul><ul><li>The Alberche born in the sierra de Gredos . </li></ul>Important river and tributaries in Comunida de Madrid
