This document discusses two magazine distributors - Bauer Media and National Magazine Company. Bauer Media owns several magazines including Kerrang! and Q, which both focus on music but target different audiences. National Magazine Company does not currently have any music magazines. The document proposes a new music magazine that would target a similar but slightly different audience than Kerrang! and argues that Bauer Media may not be interested since it already has a similar title, whereas National Magazine Company could benefit from adding a music magazine.
3. Magazine Titles Owned By Bauer
Media
• Kerrang!
• Grazia
• Threesixtydegrees
• Digital Photo
• Heat
• Q
4. Other Media Owned By Bauer Media
• Radio (e.g. TFM Radio)
• Newspapers (e.g. Classic Car Weekly)
5. Other than Kerrang! magazine, Bauer Media also
produce Q magazine which is another music
magazine. One distributor may produce more
than more music magazine to suit different
genres which will be aimed at different target
audiences. Therefore Bauer Media will be
attracting a wide range of audiences as Kerrang!
is aimed at one particular target audience
whereas Q is aimed at a wide range of target
audiences so Bauer Media will gain a larger profit
as a wider range of people will be purchasing
from this distributor.
6. My magazine will be similar to Kerrang!’s so the
target audience will be similar and Bauer
Media will want magazines that target
different content at a different audience than
one of their existing title. My magazine will
contain slightly different content to Kerrang!
as it will contain more new and upcoming
artists rather than more mainstream artists.
8. Magazine Titles Owned By National
Magazine Company

9. Other Media Owned By National

10. National Magazine Company don’t publish any
music magazines so this company might be
interested in adding my magazine to their list
of titles as it is not like any of their other
magazine titles.
