Top Ten Things I Learned about public relations By Sara Davis PRCA 3339
#1. How to design an effective brochure I learned how to use contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity to create a brochure that will appeal to my client’s public.
#2. How to use indesign I learned how to use InDesign. Before this class, I had never used InDesign. I think it is a great way to design publications.
#3. How to design a letterhead I learned how to design a letterhead that my client can use. I learned that letterheads need to be simple and appealing.
#4. How to design a business card I did not realize that designing a business card could be so challenging. It needs to have the necessary information with an appealing design.
#5. How to blog I had used wordpress before this class, but I was unaware that blogging can be a great way to share your work and opinions.
#6. Photography After taking “The Language of the Image” online course, I learned that photography is an extremely important part of PR. Photographs can make or break a publication.
#7. How to add pictures to a blog I knew how to write on a blog, but in PRCA 3339 I learned how to add pictures to my blog.
#8. How to Be a better public speaker I am always extremely nervous when speaking in front of people. However, this class helped me become more confident.
#9. How to design a flyer I did not realize that designing flyers is extremely complicated. Since this class I notice flyers all over town that should be re-designed. This class helped me learn how to design clear, appealing flyers.
10. To appreciate publications Before taking PRCA 3339, I did not realize all the work that goes into designing brochures, flyers, letterheads etc. Now I appreciate the publications I see around me everyday. I really learned a lot in this class.
