    • Governor Kulongoski signed Executive Order 09-06 on February 11, 2009, setting up the The Oregon Way Advisory Group
    • President Obama signed ARRA into law on February 17 th , 2009.
    • Great opportunities now exist to empower Oregon to create sustainable jobs by investing in transformative projects.

    • $787 billion national economic recovery initiative will provide $2.4 b to Oregon over the next 3 years.
      • Focused on workforce training for green jobs training programs (renewables & efficiency) through the Dept. of Labor
    • Additional funds are being distributed through Federal Agencies
    • Example: An additional $37 billion in competitive grants available to all states through the Dept of Energy (must be decoupled):
      • 68% cities & counties
      • 30% to states
      • 2% to tribes
