  1. Logicentrix Metrics, Dashboards & Scorecards
  2. Agenda Introduction Dashboards, Scorecards and Metrics Implementation 1 2 3
  3. Logicentrix
    • Logicentrix is a Michigan based professional services organization working with clients in manufacturing to improve performance and leverage technology to deliver optimal solutions .
    • We bring fact based management to deliver and implement fresh ideas to help your bottom line.
    • Short on assessment, long on implementation.
      • People: Workgroup set-up, Labor Optimization, Standardized work Short term support, Change Management, Lean Training, End User Training, Time Data Management, Performance Center Setup
      • Process: Performance Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, New Product and Plant support, Supply Chain Management
      • Technology: Metrics, Dashboards and Scorecards, Audits and Assessment, ERP solutions (focused on MES, MRP and SCM), Business process and workflow
  4. Recent Clients
  5. Case Studies – Eclipse Mfg.
    • Manufacturing productivity – Logicentrix got involved at Eclipse just after certification and when they were producing 3 AC/month
      • Progressively adjusted working practices until they achieved 23 AC/month C of A – 29 AC/month in primary assembly – i.e. 1/day
      • Completed and implemented (2) major line revisions: (a) single piece flow and (b) subsystems offline
      • Established line balance, required tooling and personnel for ramp, developed training program, managed schedule and productivity activities
      • Implemented Visual Factory
  6. Case Studies – Eclipse Mfg.
  7. Case Studies – Supply Audit
    • Supply Chain Assessment –
      • Developed Supplier Audit Process
      • Completed audit blitz – 42 suppliers in 6 weeks
      • Developed a Productivity Roadmap for Suppliers
      • Developed a Supply Chain scorecard portal for easier supplier management
  8. Case Studies – Diamond
    • Manufacturing productivity – got involved at Diamond to improve conformance to schedule.
    • Remapped complete production process (routers, inspections, control points et.) and established what it takes in time to build an AC
    • Extended this effort to develop realistic schedules
    • Established line balance, required tooling and personnel for production ramp, developed training program, managed schedule and productivity activities
    • Achieved 39% improvement in throughput 3 months after our study was completed
    • Implemented Warehouse ERP
    • Implemented Visual Factory
  9. Case Studies - Icon Prototype and Certification Manufacturing Development Production Execution Design Execution Discovery Phase
    • Design Execution Release for Manufacturing and supplier partner assessment .
    • Design for Manufacturing Assembly and GD&T Evaluation.
    • Establishes proper preparation and planning.
    • Determine needs and objectives.
    • Identify key partners .
    • Determine areas of strength and weakness .
    • Invent and explore strategic design alternatives and then commits to execution.
    • Build up of processes, systems and training .
    • Completion of certification body requirements, Formal execution of type approval.
    • Execution of processes to deliver AS9100.
    • Supplier audits.
    • Formal completion of production certificates at Icon and client partners.
    • Measure the performance and build a steady ramp increase.
    • Incorporate Lessons Learned into the process. Produce Program Documentation.
  10. Agenda Introduction Dashboards, Scorecards and Metrics Implementation 1 2 3
  11. Metrics, Dashboards and Scorecards “ A dashboard is a visual display of the most important information needed to achieve one or more objectives; consolidated and arranged on a single screen so the information can be monitored at a glance” Information Dashboard Design, O’Reilly 2006
    • Most dashboard products are not able to produce dashboards that communicate effectively. This is usually due to one of more of the following three problems:
    • Important data are not provided
    • 2) Display media are poorly designed for dashboard communication
    • 3) Display media cannot be positioned on the dashboard and sized as needed (easy configuration)
    Metrics, Dashboards and Scorecards
  12. Manufacturing Metrics Metrics, Dashboards and Scorecards Human Resources Availability Supply Chain Performance
  13. Visual Factory
    • Based upon Toyota Production System – Andon boards are used to track and manage performance at individuals stations integrated into a holistic RYG display – they’re a fundamental element of tracking performance against a standard work model
    • The goal is to move from a data gathering mode on the floor to one of data analysis and consequently control of production
    • Visual Factory deployed at several OEM’s (aviation, aerospace and heavy equipment) with long router operation where it is difficult to see conformance to schedule
    • Logicentrix employs a web services based solution hosted either internally or externally – capable of accessing information from multiple systems and displaying and / or analyzing information as if from a single source
