    • The total tourism inflow to kerala was about 50 lakhs during 1999
    • The foreign tourist arrival was 1.82 lakhs
    • The earnings from tourism industry was around 250 crores.

    • The western ghats regions of kerala can be projected as an ecotourism zone
    • Facilitate the growth of tourism sector in kerala
    • Help to infuse the sustainability concept to other tourism ventures outside the realm of ecotourism
