Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013

  1. 1. The Catholic Community ofSan Luis Rey Welcomes You
  2. 2. This week starts with our celebration of Palm Sunday, marking the solemn entryof Jesus into Jerusalem, surrounded by rapturouscrowds waving palm branches, singing Hosanna!
  3. 3. Then begins Triduum, the three sacred days devoted to the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.
  4. 4. Morning Prayer of the Church will be offered instead of 7:30am morning Masses in the parish chapel on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.
  5. 5. On Thursday, March 28th, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper at 7pm in the Serra Center.During Mass, we will celebrate Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. We will imitate Jesus’ who washed thefeet of his disciples and told them to lead humble lives of service in His name. Adoration will follow in the Parish Chapel after Mass.
  6. 6. On Friday, March 29, the Old Mission Montessoristudents will reenact the Passion of Our Lord in the Serra Center from 12 noon to 1pm.
  7. 7. On Friday, March 29th, Taize Prayer around the cross will be offered in the Serra Center from 3pm to 4pm.
  8. 8. On Friday March 29th, we will also celebrate theLord’s Passion at 5pm with the Way of the Cross/Via Crucis, organized by the Hispanic Community, and then a Multicultural celebration of the Passion with Holy Communion at 7:30pm in the Serra Center.In prayer and liturgy, we enter into the tremendousmystery of Jesus’ Passion: His arrest, imprisonment, torture, and death on the Cross.
  9. 9. On Saturday March 30th, we will celebrate the Lord’s Easter Vigil at 7:30pm in the Serra Center.We proclaim “He is risen!” with the newest members of our faith community, our catechumens and candidates.
  10. 10. On Sunday March 31st, we will celebrate EasterSunday at 7:00am, 9am and 11am (English) in Serra Center and 1pm (Spanish). We proclaim “He is risen!” and celebrate together the victory of Jesus Christ over sin and death. From “Hosanna” to Alleluia”, the Lord guides usthrough this Holy Week. You’re invited to join us at any or all of the services offered.
  11. 11. PARISH OFFICES CLOSED The parish offices will beclosed on Tuesday April 2and Wednesday April 3rd, 2013 due to the EasterHoliday. Office Hours will resume from 8am to 4pm beginning Thursday April 4th.
