  • 3. FROM THE PASTOR… As most of you know, this week is the second weekend of our Annual Catholic Appeal. This annual appeal from the Diocese supports many vital acvi es and programs including the Marriage and Family Life Ministry, Office of Cateche cal Ministry, Religious Voca on Outreach, Emergency Aid to Schools and Catholic Chari es that provides hope to those in need. Giving to the Annual Catholic Appeal helps us be in solidarity with the poor and less fortunate in our community. Our goal this year for the Annual Catholic Appeal is $70,000. I would like to personally thank all those who have pledged or donated already to help us meet this goal, and I invite everyone else to join us in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in need as we con nue to par cipate in the mission and work of the greater church. For those who are not able to par cipate financially, I ask that you respond with your prayers as indicated on the pledge response card. Our goal is 100% par cipa on at Mission San Luis Rey Parish. If you have any ques ons, please feel free to contact our bookkeeper, Elizabeth Rose at 760-547-0711. If you've been keeping an eye on the overhead slide show before Mass (also on the website at www.sanluisreyparish.org), you'll see pictures of the construc on work being done on the kitchen and bathrooms of St. Francis Hall. Our hope is to have a brand new, working kitchen at the end of February. The work on the parking lot behind Serra Center con nues. I want to thank our en re parish family for all they do and give. Together we can do great things with the Lord's blessing.
