  7. 7. From shepherd ... to slave ... to ruler in EgyptAfter the events at the Tower of Babble, people travelled to manyplaces around the world. The Bible follows the life of one family and aman called Abraham who had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac.Isaac married and had two sons, Esau and Jacob. After manyadventures, Jacob married also and had twelve sons. The picture hereshows one of his youngest sons, Joseph, who lived quite an amazinglife.Joseph grows up as a shepherd boy, but as a teen was sold intoslavery by jealous brothers. He was then carried off to Egypt to workfor many years in the house of an official Egyptian. But throughmisfortune, Joseph was thrown into jail.However, God had a special plan for Joseph and several years laterhe was called to appear before Pharaoh to interpret dreams. Pharaohwas so impressed with Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams that hechose him to become his second in command over all of Egypt.Sound amazing? Read this extraordinary story in Genesis chapters27, and 39 to 41.
