Processor

  1. 1. VIVEK COLLEGE OF COMMERCE 8086 MICROPROCESSOR & OTHER LATEST PROCESSOR NAME: Akash Maurya Roll no.:22
  2. 2. What is Microprocessor???1. It is multipurpose, programable device that accepts digital data as input, processing it according to instructions stored in memory and provides results as output.2. Microprocessors operate on numbers and symbol & represented in the binary numeral system.3. The advent of low-cost computers on integrated circuits has transformed modern society.
  3. 3. 8086 Microprocessor1. The 8086 also called iAPX86 is a 16-bit microprocessor chip designed by Intel between early 1976 and mid-1978.2. The 8086 project stored in may 1976 and was originally intended as a temporary substitute for the ambitious and delayed iAPX 432 project.3. It was an attempt to draw attention from the less delayed 16 & y32e-bit processors of other manufacturers and at the same time to counter the threat from the Zilogz80 which became very successful.
  4. 4. Overview or Feature of 8086I. It is a 16-bit microprocessors. Its ALU , internal registers work with 16-binary word.II. 8086 has a 20-bit address bus can access up to 220 =1MB memory locations.III. It can support up to 64 k I/O ports.IV. It provides 14,16-bit registers.V. Frequency range of 8086 is 6-10 MHz.VI. It has multiplexed address and and data bus AD0-AD15 and A16-A19.VII. It requires single phase clock with 33% duty cycle to provides internal timing.VIII. 8086 is designed to operate in two modes, minimum mode and maximum mode.
  5. 5. Pentium1. Pentium is a brand used for a series of x86 compatible microprocessors produced by Intel.2. The name Pentium is derived from the Greek word pente , meaning five and the Latin ending –ium.3. The original Pentium branded CPU’s use expected to be named 586 or i586.4. The company’s first P5-based processor was released as the original Intel Pentium on March 22,1993.5. In 2006 the Pentium brand briefly disappeared from Intel’s roadmaps.
  6. 6. Intel Core Intel Core is a brand name used for various mid-range to high-end consumer and business microprocessor made by Intel. The current lineup of Core processors includes the latest following processors:i. Intel Core i7ii. Intel Core i5iii. Intel Core i3iv. Intel Corev. Intel Core 2 Solovi. Intel Core 2 Duovii. Intel Core 2 Quadviii. Intel Core 2 Extreme
  7. 7. INTEL CORE i7 INTEL CORE i7 IS AN INTEL BRAND NAME FOR SEVERAL FAMILIES OF DESKTOP AND LAPTOP X86-64 BIT PROCESSOR USING THE NEHALM,WESTMERE AND SANDY BRIDGE MICROARCHITECTURE. INTEL CORE HAVE GOT FIVE STAR RATING. INTEL IN JANUARY,2011 RELEASED THE SECOND GENERATION CORE i7 PROCESSOR.
  8. 8. INTEL CORE i5 THE FIRST CORE i5 WAS USING THE NEHALEM MICROARCHITECTURE WAS INTRODUCED ON 8,SEPTEMBER ‘2009. THE CORE i5-5XX MOBILE PROCESSOR ARE NAMED AS ARRANDALE AND BASED ON THE 32NM.
  9. 9. INTEL CORE i3 THE INTEL CORE i3 WAS INTENTED TO BE THE NEW LOW-END OF THE PERFORMANCE PROCESSOR FROM INTEL. THE FIRST CORE i3 PROCESSOR WERE LAUNCHED ON JANUARY 7 2010.
  10. 10.  INTEL CORE2SOLO INTEL CORE2DUO INTEL CORE2QUAD INTEL CORE2EXTREME
