Conference Description The Physician Assistant Program of The George Washington University Medical Center will present a review course for physician assistants preparing for the PA National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and the Recertifying Examination (PANRE). Learning Objectives: 1. Provide a thorough review of primary care and subspecialty areas relevant to PANCE and PANRE. 2. Provide individual feedback through a “self-assessment exam." The conference includes speakers from the following specialties: Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology/Urology, Neurology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Pulmonary, and Psychiatry. An EKG Workshop will be offered on the evening of Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The workshop will include a practical review of basic 12-lead EKG interpretation and arrhythmia identification. The workshop is limited to 25 participants. Special Features: • A syllabus will be distributed to all conference participants. • 24.5 hours of concentrated primary care board review topics will be presented by physician and physician assistant speakers. • A “self-assessment exam” will be administered and individual feedback will be offered during the conference. • Slide images will be available to all participants two weeks after the conference for a period of 4 weeks.
