Online Social Networking Websites (SNSs) are become a most influential social media outlet sprung throughout the internet. SNS use is increasingly being popular among all levels of internet users while the heavy SNS use of employees is becoming a major concern at work place. However the real situation is not understandable due to the scarcity of studies conducted in this area under the local context.
Thus the objectives of the study were to identify the level of SNS usage of employees, to identify the means of using SNSs by employees for personal and professional/ work life development, and to identify measurers required to facilitate effective use of SNSs for personal and professional development overcoming possible drawbacks. Questionnaire survey, discussions and chat sessions were used in data collection. An online survey was conducted with the participation of 94 employees.
