  4. 4. Start by changing the locationof your search to yourtargeted market. In ourexample, we are targetingAustralia. Then enter yourdesired keywords or if youhave plenty of keywords, youcan upload a CSV file only.Once done adding oruploading keywords, click getestimates.
  5. 5. After that, you will begiven a new page with agraph. This graph, bydefault shows you thecost of traffic estimatesper click. If you want tosee the traffic estimatesper impressions or cost, just click on the button onthe right hand side of thegraph.
  6. 6. Basically, the graph will give you an idea how much it wouldcost (for the particular keyword group you have entered) toget a certain amount of impression or click. Or, you couldlikewise see how much impression or clicks would give youwith a specific CPC.
  7. 7. You can hover your mouse on the green line of the graph to give you pointby point detail as you increase or decrease a factor like cost, impressions orclicks. If you look at the screenshot below, when I hovered my mouse at the MaxCPC A$7.03, I got the following values: clicks 56.97, Impressions 1,525 andcost A$192.50. This means that an estimated 56 people have clicked on myad and have visited my site. A 1,525 impressions would mean that my adwas ‘seen’ by that number of users.
  8. 8. While the Max CPC means that this is the highest cost that I will pay foreach ad clicked by an internet user. This also means that some CPC is lowerthan AUD7.03. That is why the total cost of my advertisement for the day isAUD192.50 which is not equal to $7.03 x 56.97 clicks (A$400.50).If you already know the budget you can allot for your adwords, you caneasily get a more detailed scenario. Do this by filling up your Max CPCbudget and your daily budget on the box provided under the graph. As anexample, my daily budget is AUD 20.00 and the Max CPC is AUD 10.00 andthen click ‘see estimates’.
  9. 9. Each of the keyword you included in the adwords traffic estimator is givendetailed information like number of clicks, impressions, average position, clickthrough rates and average pay per click on a per day basis. With this tool you caneasily assess if you have the right combination of keywords that would give youmore traffic for money or simply to achieve your SEO goals.
