Would you like to get more out of your social media marketing campaign? If so, there are some quick changes you can make to your profiles, pages, and activity that can make a big difference in results.

  • 2. Facebook 1. Add calls to action to your page’s cover photo. The first thing people see when they visit your Facebook page is the cover photo. You can this space to advertise and promote products, offers and events. When uploading cover photo, add link to the photo description to drive traffic to the landing page.
  • 3. Facebook 2. Insert a link to your website in the short description of your page. Below the profile picture you have 155 character space area where you can write about your company, product or service. Adding your link at the end of the description can lead and drive more people to your website.
  • 4. Facebook 3. Get employees to connect the company page to their personal profiles. Increase exposure to your company by getting all your employees to link to the company page. By doing so you show up more in the Graph search and therefore more traffic and more chances to connect with your customers.
  • 5. Facebook 4. Engage using your page. Use Facebook as your business page, not personal profile to communicate and participate on other pages. If you are really useful and helpful with your comments start expecting some leads flowing in through this method.
  • 6. Twitter 5. Insert a link to your website in the bio of your profile. Twitter does has a field for your website but that field doesn’t show up everywhere on Twitter that people could come across your profile. For example, in Twitter search results, you can see the business with a link in their 160 character bio stands out from the rest.
  • 7. Twitter 6. Get employees to add the company’s @username in the bio of their profiles. Remember the tip earlier about having employees link to your company page in their personal Facebook profile? The same can be applied to Twitter profiles. Observe how KISSmetrics gets exposure through co-founder and employee profiles.
  • 8. Twitter 7. Share branded media that links back to your website.. Did you know that many of the photos and videos you share directly in your tweets reside in a special Photos and Videos box on your profile? Share pictures and videos to attracts clicks but make sure not to repeat the same image twice.
  • 9. Twitter 8. Turn tweets into testimonials. Thing about text reviews are that they can be faked but with Twitter you can just use the embed option to put it up on your website to show why people love your product.
  • 10. Twitter 9. Include Click to Tweet in your Posts. Got some interesting stats to share? Head over to Clicktotweet.com and populate the box with your message and twitter handle. This short tip will increase the social sharing on your blog posts which is just GOLD.
  • 11. Linkedin 10. Place links directly on your professional profile. Linkedn has changed their interface and the twitter handle and website links reveal when clicked on contact info but its useful to fill them out. Projects and Publications are another great way to get links
  • 12. Linkedin 11. Get employees to add the company’s page to their professional profile. Link your Company page to your work experience section on your profile so that people can click through your profile to your company page. This allows more exposure to your brand if you are using the company pages the right way.
  • 13. Linkedin 12. Create hyper-targeted LinkedIn ads. Get your message infront of micro niches but hyper targeted audience with LinkedIn Ads. E.g. You can target an ad all the way down to CEO’s of medium sized businesses in the public relations industry in Georgia if you want.
  • 14. Google 13. Use Google+ Cover Photo Effectively Just like Facebook, Google+ has a cover photo feature which you can use to showcase your USP and Strongest points. Leadpages is doing it very effectively by telling people they can create mobile responsive landing pages and much more while being compatible with Facebook.
  • 15. Google 14. Share Posts on Google+ If you are blogging (which you should), sharing posts on your Google+ page can benefit your SEO. When someone searches for your brand on Google, for some brands this block shows in the right side of the results which can give additional benefit for both SEO as Google+ indexes shows recent posts there.
  • 16. Google 15. Link Your website in Google+ Profile If you are not linking your website with your Google+ Profile, it is a Marketing FAIL. Period. If you haven’t done this already, look up for ways to claim Google Authorship account and set it up right away.
