Twitter started in 2006 as a micro blogging service (140 characters) that no one really understands. Indonesian only paid attention to Twitter in 2010, 4 years after the service is available.
Currently, it is estimated that Indonesian produce around 15% of all tweets globally, making Indonesia the 3rd largest tweets producers after Brazil and USA.

Began with the idea of collecting more data on conversations that are happening in our own user generated content websites, such as DagDigDug.comand Politikana.com, but expanded to collecting data from external network which provided a more comprehensive overview about Indonesian online conversations.
Commence data collecting in May 2010, SalingSilang.com Version 1 was launched at Social Media Day in Jakarta on June 30, 2010 to a limited audience.

Summary & Analysis
Indonesian Social Mediasphere is big, growing and really active
Information shared in social media but as well as “conversations”
More research and data needed to really understand the dynamics of social media exchange in Indonesia and its impact, we barely touch the surface
With more information (overload) credible party: news organizations or “curators” is needed more than ever
Conversations is manageable with the right tools
Be careful with what information you put online, specially if you are 18 years old, married, lives in Jakarta guy, who is interested in Men! :D
