GENERAL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN TURKEY • Doctorate, Master’s etc.Higher Education • Bachelor’s degree, Postgraduate etc. Secondary • Vocational High School (15-18 Ages - 4 years) Education • Anatolian High School (15-18 Ages - 4 years) • Middle School > (11-14 Ages > 4 years) Primary • Primary School > (07-10 Ages > 4 years) Education • Kindergarten
  • 3. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION IN TURKEY 4+4+4=12 years compulsory; Publicly financed; Free of charge in State schools, but not in Special schools. Vocational education starts from High school.
  • 4. Both day andTÜLAY AKTAS MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF boarding school; Co-educational; A total of 82 students: (40 borders and 42 day-students); Supporters such as nurse, tutors and other persons; The disabled students receive schooling, lunches and transportation to and from school; All municipal buses, metro and ferry are free of charge for the disabled.
  • 5. Teachers of theTEACHERS Deaf in Turkey qualify through full-time study at university lasting a minimum of four years. All teachers in Primary school are the «specialized teachers» in the field of deaf education. but all are normal «branch teachers» in Middle School.
  • 6. We use totalTEACHING OF THE DEAF method in teaching and training of the deaf. A few special schools are oral. Sign language isn’t taught systematically in our school. Children usually wear hearing aids or have cochlear implants and, additionally, use FM systems in the class.
  • 7. WE TEACH:TURKISH, MATH, ICT, SCIENCE, CIVICS, FOREIGN LANGUAGE, SOCIAL SCIENCES, MUSIC, DRAWING,PHYSICAL EDUCATION, HANDICRAFTS AND RELIGION AND ETHIC.
  • 8. FOLK DANCE Although our students are deaf, they can perform folk dance successfuly.
