14. 14.

Students’ Blog Posts

The need for introductory workshop:

As I reflect being a university student, I actually have experienced MLearning all this while without realizing it has got its own term! When I wanted to buy the current N70 phone, I had requested my phone to be installed with PDF reader and Word reader so that I could read PDF and Word files in my phone (IY)

I did mlearning before, when I didn't even know what mlearning is. That was when I had my brother's IPhone to bring along wherever I go. I installed Wikipedia and even stored Assessment notes in the phone. Why? Because the lecturer likes to test us whenever he likes and I want to be ready if he asks. Does that help me? Yes, a great deal. (LCWY)

 15. 15.

Students’ Blog Posts

Students are willing to try out the tools or applications but cost is a big issue

As for my small-tiny-mini NOKIA 6288, I once use recorder to record my ugly voice and listen to it over and over again to remember certain facts well. (exam time?) (ALCK)

I have tried Facebook Mobile in my handphone and I loved it! With this, it is like having your laptop in your handphone (AAR)

I’ve tried a gps software, just for trial, and my dear lord, it has credited like 14buck to my bill and fyi, I just use it to navigate me from pantai dalam to cheras and the route is less than 10km. (SAA)

 16. 16.

Students’ Blog Posts

The need for virtual assistance

Last 3 years I just found that handphone can made video call and also send e-mail but I rarely use it. Maybe most of the people out there as same as me. (MFNA)

I hardly explore my hp other than calling people, sms-ing, listening to songs, taking pictures, setting reminders and alarm. I never go online, never. But after the lesson (mlearning workshop) I was tempted to do so. And I did and I felt ‘WOW” please do not ask why I felt so, but I just felt ‘WOW’. (TN)

 17. 17.

Recommendation

Mobile learning concept will need to be introduced first

A virtual technical forum for students to get to know their mobile phones better needs to be created.

Mlearning activities that are predicted to be well-received are those that minimize web-based connection time.. The students’ preferences were for SMS type of activities (organization tools eg schedule alerts) and capturing of video and pictures, . eBook , podcast.
