My First Green Project
• Was in a class at school
• We handed out 400
flyers on Halloween
(dressed as the Sun and
the Earth) to show
people how great solar
panels would be for our
school and to vote for
them.
• We got the panels!

• My classmates and I also made a newsletter
about all of the green projects that our school
(including us) had done over the year.
• Our school did so many green things, that it
took six pages to get it all in!

My School, A Power Company?
• My school is getting solar panels! We are not going
to use as much coal, oil, or nuclear energy because
our solar panels will actually produce energy.
• We will give energy back to the community.

Caps Can`t Be Recycled!
• I knew plastic could be recycled, but I didn`t
know that rigid plastic caps couldn`t be
recycled so they just end up in landfills or the
shore.
CAPS!

Animals Eat Them!

• Our school entered a nation wide
contest to collect caps in school.
• Over 10,000 schools competed.
• We had 337,797 caps!

Recycling, A Habit?
• Do you know how to make recycling a habit?
• Well here`s how:
– Save up the recyclables.
– Put it into your subconscious mind.
– Do it all the time.
– We recycle things right away.
– We also reuse things so that we don`t waste.
– When we get a can or jar with a wrapper on it when we`re done
with it, we separate the paper wrapper from the can or jar and
recycle them separately.
– When we`re done with a water bottle and there isn’t a recycling
bin around, we save it in the car until we get to one.

So We Clean It Up
• These are just some of the things that we recycled
from the beach when we were cleaning it up.

• Last week I set up a bin saying “empty water
