  2. 2. OverviewWe have interviewed large numbers of young peopleand given them a chance to tell their stories.What do they want from the future? Whatobstacles do they face? And how can theyhelp build a stronger Pakistan?Our report argues that it is time for a freshstart. We all need to unite behind a newmission to meet the needs of the nextgeneration. Never again will Pakistan havesuch a high proportion of young adults in itspopulation. They offer us a substantialdividend, which we cannot afford to leave onthe table. With the country at aperilous point in its history, many youngleaders are determined to play their part inbuilding a brighter future.The next generation is emerging as apowerful force for change. The potential can not be realized by scoring As in O and A Level examinations but the emphasis should be given for the active participation of the youth in the community and its activities. Frankly, here it seems what you say does not matter but who and how old you are matters a lot. The elders need to trust the next generation more. Junaid Ahmed Sajjad Haider:Urging people to excel

We just need to give our 18-23 year students opportunities to work like NGOs, volunteering, social work and internships and sit back and watch them do wonders.
