    30 TACKS 10 JIBES 20 TACKS 10 JIBES 10 TACKS 10 JIBES
    MARK ROUNDINGS
    RACES LOTS OF RACES…
  • 4. SPORT MENTALITY
IT DOESN’T MEAN THAT IF YOU WANT TO BE SERIOUS IN TRAINING YOU SHOULD STOP SMILING
SET TARGETS AND FIND THE STEPS TO REACH THEM
YOU HAVE TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW IN EVERY TRAINING
WHEN I AM A MEMBER OF A TEAM I SHOULD RESPECT THE OTHERS… IN BOTH WATER AND SHORE
REMEMBER! THE WHOLE THING HAS TO RESTART WHEN YOU ARE OVER THE LINE
RESPECT THE RULES,FIRST OF ALL THEY PROTECTYOUR BOAT
MY BOAT IS BOTH MY TOOL IN ORDER TO SAIL AND MY WEAPON TO BEAT THE OTHERS
I SHOULD RESPECT MY BOAT UNTIL THE LAST DAY I AM USING IT
  • 5. STARTS
    STARTS WERE OUR WEAKEST POINT
WE WERE TOO EARLY ON THE LINE
OUR TECNIQUE AND MANOUVERS NEEDED IMPROVEMENT
WE WERE BACKING OUR SAILS TO KEEP OUR POSITION
  • 6. WE IMPROVED A LOT
THE RIGHT WAY TO KEEP YOUR SPOT ON THE START IS LOTS OF SMALL MANOUVERS AT HALF OF YOUR SPEED AT THE LAST 30 SEC
I SHOULD NEVER LOSE ALL MY SPEED
I SHOULD NEVER TACK WHEN I AM TOO CLOSE TO THE STARTING LINE BUT JIBE
REMEMBER TO APPROACH THE LINE AT THE LAST 45 SEC
IF THERE IS LIGHT WIND CONDITIONS THE BOATS NEED 12 SECONDS TO ACCCELERATE
IF THERE IS MEDIUM WIND CONDITIONS THEY NEED 7 SECONDS
AND IF IT IS WINDY THE BOATS NEED 3 SECONDS
THE IDEAL IS… AT THE LAST SECONDS TO STAY CLOSE TO MY WINDWARD BOAT AND AWAY FROM MY LEEWARD
BE AWARE OF RULE 42 FOR SCULLING
WHEN YOU WAIT FOR THE START TRY NOT TO HEAL YOUR BOAT TO WINDWARD BECAUSE IT TENDS TO BEAR AWAY FROM THE LINE
  • 7. DIFFERENT WAYS TO APPROACH THE LINE
    BEHIND APPROACH WITH SLOW SPEED
    PORT TACK APPROACH
    DIVING TO STOP
  • 8. BODY POSTURE
  • 9. WE DID A LOT OF WORK IN POSITIONING OUR BODIES IN THE BOAT PROPERLY
REMENBER THE 2 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT OUR BOAT SPEED
FLAT BOAT- BOW OUT OF THE WATER
  • 10. YOU CAN CHANGE THE ANGLE OF YOUR BODY WHILE HIKING WITH THE MAINSHEET
    REMEMBER THE 3 GEARS
1ST GEAR LIGHT WIND MAINSHEET BEHIND BOTH LEGS
2ND GEAR MEDIUM WIND MAINSHEET BETWEEN THE LEGS
3RD GEAR STRONG WIND MAINSHEET IN FRONT OF THE LEGS
  • 11. I ENTER AND EXIT THE BOAT LIKE A DRAWER
  • 12. REMEMBER WHEN A GUST HITS YOU
YOU HAVE TO CHANGE TO 3RD GEAR
    STRAIGHTEN YOU BODY
    STRAIGHTEN YOUR FRONT ARM
TWIST YOUR UPPER BODY SLIGHTLY BACKWARDS
  • 13. YOUR ELBOW PROTECTS YOU FROM THE WATER IN THE FACE
  • 14. DON’T HIKE DIAGONALLY YOU LOOSE A LOT OF WEIGHT
  • 15. KEEP YOUR FRONT SHOULDER UP AND DON’T MOVE TOO MUCH
  • 16. TRIMMING
TAKE THE WRINKLES OFF YOUR SAIL
ACT FAST AND TRIM YOUR SAIL AT THE CHANGES OF THE WIND SPEED (boomvang-sprit-outhal)
PLAY WITH YOUR SAIL AT EVERY SINGLE GUST
BE AWARE OF THE HEIGHT OF YOUR CENTERBORD IN DOWNWIND
  • 17. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT KIND OF SAIL YOU HAVE AND HOW OLD IT IS…UNLESS YOU TRIM IT PROPERLY
  • 18. TACTICS
    ALWAYS LOOK FOR A GUST
SAIL THE LEG TOWARDS THE MARK
BE AWARE OF THE SAILING RULES
DON’T APPROACH THE FIRST MARK ON PORT
  • 19. YOU DID A GOOD JOB WE ARE PROUD OF YOU
