    Presentation - Presentation Transcript

    1. A practical guideline
    2. Do
        • Write information with a neutral point of view - to avoid bias and partial information - to provide reliable information
      •
        • Provide the latest information about your media production on the official sites for updating Wikipedia entries
      •       - to help media products to reach wider audiences
      •       - to contribute to continuous updates
      •       - to adapt produsage in the new economy
    3. Do
        • Check your page regularly to make sure the perception of you is the right one, and let the editors of Wikipedia know if some things that were written about you are wrong.
      •         - Wikipedians would usually respond quickly, they would
      • correct or reverse the changes made to the page.
      •
    4. Don’t
        • Edit rivals Wikipedia pages - it is a conflict of interest
      •
        • Control or dominate Wikipedia entries which are relevant to your work
      •        - because the relationship between audience and producer has
      •        changed
      •     - Wikipedia allows open participation
      •     - Wikipedia encourages collaboration
    5. Don't
        • Edit your own page if you're a famous producer or a television presenter and the page was written about you, ask your personal assistant to do that for you. - Conflict of interest editing is strongly discouraged. - Articles about oneself have to be neutral, but it is very difficult to write neutrally and objectively about oneself.
