    Scene opens with Alice Debbon, sitting, crying in her bedroom, thinking about scene: light pink and white top with jeans reflect innocent
                                                                           Mise en her parents who are downstairs feuding, and her stressful
    day at school. So, she sits and waits to speak to her online friend; Emily Wilkinson. walls connote sorrow. Flower represents small good
                                                                           and youth. Blue
                                                                            in her life, clock to suggest Alice is waiting, pink objects and teddy
                                                                            reflect youth and innocence. Bedroom location equals the place
                                                                            where she sleeps and is very vulnerable, and speaking with Emily
                                                                            also puts her in a vulnerable please. Blue tint to reflect character’s
                                                                            depressed state.

                                                                            Performance: character hides face, sobs and scrunches up in the
                                                                            foetal position, suggesting her stress, vulnerability and depression.

                                                                              necklace represent the love and affection she feels for Emily. Blue wall
                                                                              is no longer visible therefore the sorrow Alice felt has disappeared.

    The Facebook chat message screen and sound is used to show that the relationship between Alice and Emily is very strong as Alice’s
    cries are no longer heard once she receives a message from Emily.

INT. 16:06. Bedroom.
Alice’s stresses are instantly gone when she receives a message on Facebook from her online friend; Emily Wilkinson.
Camera work: low level mid shot. Living room location.

                                                                          Editing: current shot intercuts with previous shot to create tension.

                                                                          Sound: diegetic sound of keyboard being tapped on laptop.

                                                                          Mise en scene: living room location is a social environment;
                                                                          highlighting the idea that Emily and Alice are socialising via a social
                                                                          networking site. The lighting and costume are both very dark
                                                                          suggesting a very sinister mood as the identity of Emily is revealed.

INT. 16:08. Living Room location.
The identity of ‘Emily’ is revealed, as the body of a middle-aged man is seen sat in his house, on his laptop, talking to Alice, pretending
to be her friend.

Alice receives another message from her online friend; Emily. This time though, Emily’s message is forward and out of the blue opposed
to her previous kind and polite message.
Camera work: mid eye level reaction shot. Slow track inwards on

                                                                           Performance: character reacts confusedly to Facebook chat message
                                                                           she received.

                                                                           Sound: diegetic faint arguing fades in at 3 seconds.
                                                                           Sound FX: eerie strings.

                                                                           Mise en scene: many random objects are visible around and above
                                                                           Alice representing her confused emotions as she is unsure of what to
                                                                           think of the way Emily is acting.

Shot No. 6
INT. 16:09. Bedroom.
Alice appears confused after receiving a strange message from Emily. Therefore, the audiencelevel shot. Pull back shot on a Dolly to position
                                                                      Camera work: wide eye can understand that Emily does not
usually talk this way with Alice.                                     the camera outside characters bedroom, on the landing.

                                                                           Performance: character hears her parents arguing and is saddened
                                                                           and her head slumped on her hand portrays the idea that she is fed up
                                                                           of the arguing.

                                                                           Mise en scene: Blue tint represents Alice’s sadness. Poster ironically
                                                                           implies that as Alice is a teenager, people should keep out of her room
                                                                           as there are excessive amounts of sound in there, yet it is actually the
                                                                           sound of her parents that she now wants to keep out. Landing location
                                                                           shows that the sound is not coming from her room as it is her parents
                                                                           downstairs.

                                                                           Sound: volume of the diegetic arguing increases.
                                                                           Sound FX: eerie strings fade out.

Shot No. 7
INT. 16:10. Landing.
Alice hears her parents argument worsen. She begins feeling upset and even more frustrated after how Emily spoke to her.
Camera work: high angled medium shot.

                                                                          Editing: shot fades in to suggest longer passage of time from previous
                                                                          frame to this one.

                                                                          Sound: diegetic – character begins to cry. The sound of arguing fades
                                                                          out.

                                                                          Mise en scene: blue tint portrays Alice’s deep depression. Bedroom
                                                                          location.

                                                                          Performance: Alice holds her head and appears very stressful, her
                                                                          body language portrays the stress her parents feuding is putting on her.

INT. 17:15. Bedroom.
Alice’s parents have been arguing for over an hour now, and she begins to cry out of stress and frustration.

                                                                         Mise en scene: Alice’s love heart necklace is on show, representing
                                                                         the love she needs in her life. Blue tint represents her depression.

                                                                         Performance: Alice is very stressful and depressed; she holds her
                                                                         head out of frustration and cries.

INT. 17:15. Bedroom.
Alice begins to hysterically cry as her loneliness and pain is reminded by her parents’ argument.
Camera work: medium eye level shot. Tracking shot as character gets
                                                                        out of bed and leaves bedroom.

                                                                        Editing: straight cut from previous frame to current.

                                                                        Performance: Alice is fed up, exhausted from her emotional outburst
                                                                        and sad, this is shown through her sad facial expression and limp body
                                                                        language.

INT. 17:29. Bedroom/landing.
Alice pulls herself together, gets out of bed and walks out of her bedroom and onto the landing.
                                                                         Camera work: long high angle follow shot. Tracking shot follows
                                                                         character from when she leaves bedroom and walks down the stairs.

                                                                         Mise en scene: stairway location appears very claustrophobic and
                                                                         caves in on Alice. This represents the difficult situation which she is
                                                                         finding hard to leave. Blue tint to reflect the miserable mood.

                                                                         Sound FX: diegetic footsteps.
                                                                         Sound: volume of parents argument increases and object are thrown,
                                                                         glass smashes.

INT. 17:31. Stairway.
Alice walks down the stairs; scared and worried, as her parents’ violent argument becomes brutal.
Camera work: medium eye-level shot. Bottom of stairs location.

                                                                        Performance: character looks in to room where sound of parents
                                                                        arguing come from. Her body language is very child-like.

                                                                        Mise en scene: blue tine to reflect the sorrow and horror that Alice

                                                                        Father and screams.

INT. 17:32. Bottom of stairs.
Alice is extremely concerned about her parent’s hostile argument, so she peers around the door like a young child to see what is
happening. She hears objects being thrown and her Mother being hit by her Father.

                                                                        expression.

                                                                        Editing: straight cut from previous frame to current.

                                                                        Performance: Alice appears horrified as she looks into room where
                                                                        parents are arguing.

                                                                        bridge. Scream then echoes.

INT. 17:32. Bottom of stairs.
Alice is shocked and scared when she sees her Father hit her Mother during their violent argument.

                                                                         character’s shoulder represents the family she is leaving behind. Door

Alice is terrified after what she just witnessed between her parents. And so, she leaves her family behind and walks out of her house.

                                                                         Sound: diegetic sounds of character’s footsteps and putting her

To escape from the difficult situation, Alice puts her headphones in.

Alice is watched from the bushes outside her house as she walks away from her home.

                                                                        Soundtrack: McFly ‘She falls asleep’.

                                                                        Performance: Alice is sad and looks down as she thinks about whether
                                                                        she made the right decision by leaving.

                                                                        Mise en scene: outside location; where the left side of the background
                                                                        (the thorn bush) represents the danger of Alice’s future. The right side
                                                                        of the background (the house) represents her family and home-life that
                                                                        she is leaving behind. Alice is in the middle of the frame, which shows
                                                                        that she is equally as close to either of the ‘sides’. Her necklace
                                                                        represents the love she longs for in her life. The headphones show that
                                                                        she is listening to music. Blue tint reflects her sadness and confusion.

EXT. 17:34. Outside.
Alice has walked quite a few metres from her house and she feels sad as she thinks about her family falling apart and begins to debate
whether she has made the right decision or not.

                                                                        Editing: previous frame zooms out to reveal current frame.

                                                                        Mise en scene: outside location; where Alice is now facing toward the
                                                                        ‘dangerous side’ (the thorn bushes) as she regrets leaving her family.
                                                                        Although due to the way Alice is facing; this implies that the dangerous
                                                                        side is the way she is headed.

                                                                        Sountrack: McFly ‘She falls asleep’

EXT. 17:34. Outside.
An indecisive Alice looks back as she regrets leaving her violent, feuding parents.
Camera work: long tracking eye-level establishing shot. Tracking shot
                                                                       from behind character as she enters new location.Tracking shot
                                                                       continues to follow character as she journeys further into the forest.

                                                                       Mise en scene: grey and blue tint resembles Alice’s depressed state.
                                                                       Forest location represents a busy area with a difficult escape.

                                                                       Editing: shot fades in from previous frame to current to suggest that
                                                                       Alice has been walking for a few minutes.

                                                                       Performance: Alice’s body language is very slumped over and she
                                                                       walks very slowly into the forest as she is thinking about her family,
                                                                       therefore she is feeling very depressed, and she is also regretting
                                                                       leaving her house a lot.

Alice continues to walk and ends up in a nearby forest.

                                                                       shot that follows character as she walks further into the forest.

                                                                       Mise en scene: the trees within the frame (which are to the side of
                                                                       Alice) show how difficult an escape would be.

                                                                       extremely loud diegetic phone vibration sound on the 5th second.

Alice is watched from the nearby trees as she steps deeper into the secluded forest area.

Shot No. 1 Sound FX: diegetic ticking of the clock positioned on the windowsill. INT. 16:04. Bedroom. Scene opens with Alice Debbon, sitting, crying in her bedroom, thinking about scene: light pink and white top with jeans reflect innocent Mise en her parents who are downstairs feuding, and her stressful day at school. So, she sits and waits to speak to her online friend; Emily Wilkinson. walls connote sorrow. Flower represents small good and youth. Blue in her life, clock to suggest Alice is waiting, pink objects and teddy reflect youth and innocence. Bedroom location equals the place where she sleeps and is very vulnerable, and speaking with Emily also puts her in a vulnerable please. Blue tint to reflect character’s depressed state. Performance: character hides face, sobs and scrunches up in the foetal position, suggesting her stress, vulnerability and depression. Shot duration: 4 seconds Camera work: close-up – found image. This shot is taken from a print screen image of a Facebook page. Sound: the volume of the diegetic ‘alert’ sound from the Facebook chat message is very loud and the character’s sobs and the ticking of the clock fade out. Duration: 3 seconds. Camera work: medium – low, eye levelled reaction shot. Pink glow. Sound and editing: Facebook chat message diegetic ‘alert’ sound carries over into this image with a sound bridge over a straight cut. Performance: character reacts to Facebook chat message she received, by smiling and leaning her body inwards towards laptop; showing a closeness and a keenness between Alice and Emily. Mise en scene: ‘love’ letter on shelf behind character and love heart necklace represent the love and affection she feels for Emily. Blue wall is no longer visible therefore the sorrow Alice felt has disappeared. Bedroom location. Pink tint to reflect character’s loving mood. Shot No. 2 Duration: 3.5 seconds. Found image. The Facebook chat message screen and sound is used to show that the relationship between Alice and Emily is very strong as Alice’s cries are no longer heard once she receives a message from Emily. Shot No. 3 INT. 16:06. Bedroom. Alice’s stresses are instantly gone when she receives a message on Facebook from her online friend; Emily Wilkinson.
  • 2. Camera work: low level mid shot. Living room location. Editing: current shot intercuts with previous shot to create tension. Sound: diegetic sound of keyboard being tapped on laptop. Mise en scene: living room location is a social environment; highlighting the idea that Emily and Alice are socialising via a social networking site. The lighting and costume are both very dark suggesting a very sinister mood as the identity of Emily is revealed. Duration: 4 seconds. Shot No. 4 INT. 16:08. Living Room location. The identity of ‘Emily’ is revealed, as the body of a middle-aged man is seen sat in his house, on his laptop, talking to Alice, pretending to be her friend. Camera work: close-up – found image. This shot is taken from a print screen image of a Facebook page. Sound and editing: diegetic ‘alert’ sound from the Facebook chat message creates a straight cut to this shot from the previous. Duration: 3 seconds. Shot No. 5 Found image. Alice receives another message from her online friend; Emily. This time though, Emily’s message is forward and out of the blue opposed to her previous kind and polite message.
  • 3. Camera work: mid eye level reaction shot. Slow track inwards on character’s confused expression. Performance: character reacts confusedly to Facebook chat message she received. Sound: diegetic faint arguing fades in at 3 seconds. Sound FX: eerie strings. Mise en scene: many random objects are visible around and above Alice representing her confused emotions as she is unsure of what to think of the way Emily is acting. Duration: 5 seconds Shot No. 6 INT. 16:09. Bedroom. Alice appears confused after receiving a strange message from Emily. Therefore, the audiencelevel shot. Pull back shot on a Dolly to position Camera work: wide eye can understand that Emily does not usually talk this way with Alice. the camera outside characters bedroom, on the landing. Performance: character hears her parents arguing and is saddened and her head slumped on her hand portrays the idea that she is fed up of the arguing. Mise en scene: Blue tint represents Alice’s sadness. Poster ironically implies that as Alice is a teenager, people should keep out of her room as there are excessive amounts of sound in there, yet it is actually the sound of her parents that she now wants to keep out. Landing location shows that the sound is not coming from her room as it is her parents downstairs. Sound: volume of the diegetic arguing increases. Sound FX: eerie strings fade out. Duration: 4 seconds. Shot No. 7 INT. 16:10. Landing. Alice hears her parents argument worsen. She begins feeling upset and even more frustrated after how Emily spoke to her.
  • 4. Camera work: high angled medium shot. Editing: shot fades in to suggest longer passage of time from previous frame to this one. Sound: diegetic – character begins to cry. The sound of arguing fades out. Mise en scene: blue tint portrays Alice’s deep depression. Bedroom location.
