NAGPUR
  3. 3. NAGPUR ∆ After the first reorganization of states, the city lost its capital status but according to the informal "Nagpur Pact" between political leaders it was made the second capital of Maharashtra. ∆ The city was founded by the Gonds but later became part of the Maratha Empire under the Bhonsles. ∆ The British East India Company took over Nagpur in the 19th century and made it the capital of the Central Provinces and Berar.
  4. 4. ∆ Nagpur lies precisely at the center of the country with the Zero Mile Marker indicating the geographical center of India. ∆ Nagpur has aTropical wet and dry climate with dry conditions prevailing for most of the year . ∆ Summers are extremely hot lasting from March to June, with maximum temperatures occurring in May. ∆ The highest recorded temperature in the city was 48.6 °C (119.5 °F) on 26 May 1954,[ while the lowest was 3 °C. NAGPUR
  5. 5. ∆ Nagpur is administered by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC)which is democratically elected civic governing body. ∆ NagpurImprovement Trust (NIT) works with NMC and carries out works like development of the Civic Infrastructure and new Urban areas on behalf of NMC. ∆[The city is divided in 10 zones which are in turn divided into 136 wards. Each ward is represented by a comparator, majority of whom are elected in local elections. NAGPUR
  6. 6. ∆ Nagpur is also the home of National Academy of Direct Taxes (N.A.D.T.) where officers of Revenue Services are trained. ∆ Nagpur is headquarters of National Level Scientific and Governmental Establishments like the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute NEERI. ∆ Nagpur's economy is currently recovering from past slowdowns[ and city has attracted Rupees 5,000 crore in investment in 2004. ∆ The city was ranked 9th most competitive city in the country by the Institute for Competitiveness in its 2010 report ●The Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground (VCA) in Nagpur is one of the nine test venues in the country. NAGPUR

Mihan is spread over an area of 4354 hectares of which 1300 hectares will be occupied by the international airport , SEZ of 2100 hectares, IT Park of around 500 hectares,Health City of 40 hectares etc Provision for aircraft engineering and maintenance base International hub airport integrating with existing airport will cater to the needs of 14 million passengers and 870000 tons of cargo in about 2 decades MIHAN - PROJECT
  8. 8. The Second capital of Maharashtra,Nagpur has a strategic place along the international aviation routes. Its unique Central Location in the Indian sub-continent makes it an ideal passenger and Cargo Hub on the Air routes between S-E Asia and Middle E-Asia / Europe. Potential: Nagpur has the potential to become one of India's fastest growing cosmopolitan city with highest per capital income Nagpur is Going to be a World Trade City with MIHAN is on way. Availability of highest road length, 75 passenger trains and 60 goods trains provide connectivity to Nagpur from various parts of the country MIHAN - PROJECT
  9. 9. The city has Acres of Free Land which can be taken under cover for big Enterprising projects, the advantage no other cosmopolitan city can boast off. The entire MIHAN project would be having FIBER optics cable laid. MIHAN will have 2,4 and 6 lanes road with total internal length of road at 51KM. Two Flyovers would be built over the NH-7 which runs on one side of the Project. MIHAN - PROJECT

  12. 12. Nagpur / Vidarbha, the‘Tiger Capital of the World’ Nagpur in Vidarbha, colloquially referred to as the ‘Orange City’, is actually the ‘Tiger Capital of the World’. There is no other city anywhere with an International Airport, which has so many notified tiger parks and reserves in its close proximity such as Tadoba ,Pench,Nagzira,Bor etc It is actually possible to land in Nagpur, drive out 30, to 50, km, and have an encounter with a real wild Royal Bengal Tiger, in its natural environment. After Oil-energy, Tourism is the largest industry in the world and the fastest growing segment of this immense industry is Wild Life, and Adventure Tourism. India is a wild life superpower, and has the Natural Capital Assets to take a pole position in this industry, and Nagpur and Vidarbha can become a centrepiece of this edifice.
  13. 13. Earnings from investments in Wild Life & Adventure Tourism With aggressive marketing targeting 10% of the 6 million foreign visitors who visited last year,i.e. a total of 6.0 lac's. if guests spends an average of 5 days in the wild with an average of US$ 400 / day.it includes everything, boarding, lodging, transport, safaris etc. Assume US$ 1= INR 50/- The revenues earned from the foreign visitors would be: 600,000*5*400*50= INR60 bn. Or 6000.cr. The numbers are simply enormous and it still does not take into account domestic tourism which could double the earnings. if Vidarbha’s assets are efficiently managed, the earnings potential is enormous.
  14. 14. NAGPUR: Come May and the first multipurpose indoor stadium of the Orange City will be totally dressed up to play a perfect host to its first ever National Basketball Championship. Impressed with the facilities at the Indoor Sports Complex Basketball Federation of India secretary general Harish Sharma allotted the 28th Youth Nationals at the Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur. After discussing with the NDBA president and officials, I am allotting the youth nationals to Nagpur. With these kind of facilities, Nagpur can become a sports training hub of the country."
  15. 15. MIHAN has a strategic location, as it's at the geometrical center of the country and is easily accessible by road and rail.
