MathenyWatch Video Here: In this video, I coverthe following points:1) A quick comparison with the Epson GT-S50 and Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 scanners - whichwe also tried.2) Setup of the fi-6130z scanner3) External features and form factor of the scanner4) Using the scanner software to scan items of multiple thicknesses & sizesOverall, for people who dont want to watch the video, this scanner has been workingexceptionally well for us. The software is a bit retro; but, once you figure it out, it isnt hard touse - and it offers a lot of functionality. Here are the things we like:1) It has a very small form factor that fits great on the desk2) It supports both TWAIN and ISIS interfaces!3) It easily handles items of multiple sizes and thicknesses - and it takes care of rotating andcropping automatically4) The OCR feature works very well
    • 5) It can scan barcodes and then use those codes in its batch processing - which makes it easy toseparate scan jobs, rename files, etc...6) Its fast and accurate7) The support is excellent - we spent hours on the phone with Fujitsu to make the barcodescanner work the way we want, and they didnt complain at all. One of their engineers wasfinally able to resolve the issue. As I already mentioned, the install process and software in general arent really the easiest to use- but they arent horrible either. Just be prepared to have a bit of patience at first.I would highly recommend this scanner if you are using this for business. The speed, reliability, and feature set really are hard to beat in this price range.20 of 20 people found the following review helpful.Awesome Scanner. Really worth the cost!!By TeknologicI bought this scanner after reading a lot of online reviews as well as talking to Fujitsu. The onlybad thing I have to say is about Fujitsu is that they understand that they have a really goodproduct and so they package TWAIN drivers at a premium. The cheapest Fujitsu TWAINscanner is $650 which is kind of ridiculous when you have $80 TWAIN scanners in the marketplace. They should have TWAIN on all models, its become industry standard. The scanner is really good, really fast and compact. I scanned 8000 print photos that I had intomy pc and it took me a day and a half (most of the time was in sorting the pictures). The dutycycle is excellent and since I dont scan that much on average, I expect a long life of this product.I recommend this to anyone that is looking for a high speed scanner. The software is ok, reallycomplicated. I use an organizing software called File Center with this scanner and Im getting ridof 80% of the papers in my office.21 of 23 people found the following review helpful. The Mercedes Benz of Personal ShreddersBy cris_bIve purchased the scanner based on the stellar reviews of Fujitsu scanners in general. It exceededall my expectations. Before the 6130z arrived, I was buried in paper to the point where I was keeping a thick stack ofbinders, notebooks and bills on the coffee table; all bookshelves in my apartment were full.I ended up digitizing not only my bills and mail as I first thought, but all the binders, notebooks, letters, tax and business related documents - and now I am as paper free as it gets.Note: Unless you are a previous Fujitsu owner, you most likely never heard of ScandAll Proscanning software. That is all youll ever need. However, it does not perform alterations on .pdffiles other than the ones created with a Fujitsu scanner.See all 51 customer reviews...My Associates Store | Shopping Cart
