So far everything Ive looked at and workedwith gets dicey at about 500 yds. It just depends on the conditions. But a rule of thumb is if thesun is out and you arent being barraged with thermals you should be able to see at minimal 500yds. So far I have not been disappointed in what I got for the price. When there are no thermalsand good light, I can see very well at 500yds.I also like its field of view. I was actually watching 4 targets the last time out without movingthe scope. These are 12" x 12 " targets.I have a Schmidt and Bender 56mm scope and its brightness and optics are actually better, butwe are comparing a $2000 + set of optics to a < $500 set of optics. I also have a NightForce56mm scope and I would compare its brightness as a little better.I have had quite a number of people use my scope for spotting and they are really amazed at its
    • performance vs cost. So I would say that if these guys would put in a MOA or mildot reticle, they could sell quite a few more to people who are in the sport of long distance shooting. At 600 yds on a good day like the last, I think this would have been fine. But no matter whatscope you get, there are going to be some days you just have to walk up.The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it doesnt have a hash reticle option, and the optics arereally not the best. But I think price vs performance this is a keeper. So far I havent run intoanyone who could see something I couldnt.30 of 32 people found the following review helpful.Great scope for the moneyBy Wayne AI just received this scope a couple of days ago and couldnt be happier. My primary use is forbirding near the ocean in Maine where our campsite overlooks the mile wide marsh and estuary. The detail on the birds is amazing even at long distances and I can even read the license platenumbers on cars parked a mile away. Last night I was out with my 8" telescope and even took alook at Jupiter with this spotting scope and was able to see the two cloud bands and all fourmoons easily in great detail. This is my second Celestron optical device. I also have a pair ofCelestron binoculars and the image quality and construction on both is superb. Ive looked atseveral spotting scopes ranging from $200 to $2000 and believe this one is a great buy.24 of 25 people found the following review helpful.Excellent scope, especially for the priceBy FeliciaWe have used this scope so far to spy on birds, and to take looks at the moon. It feels very sturdywithout being too heavy to carry on a trail to a bird blind. The images are very crisp, clear andbright especially if you are not zoomed in all the way. Once you start to zoom, it does get a littleless crisp, but nonetheless, it still is a very clear image of whatever critter you are trying towatch. I would buy one of these again. I would have expected that I would have to pay a lot moremoney for something of this quality.See all 30 customer reviews...My Associates Store | Shopping Cart Browse by CategoryPatio Furniture SetsCamera & Photo Similar Items
