Pacific Ring of FireThe Pacific Ring of Fire is an area where large numbers ofearthquakes and volcanic eruptions occurs in the bash of thePacific Ocean.In a 40.000km horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearlycontinuous series of oceanic trenches.About 90% of the worlds earthquakes and 80% of the worldslargest earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire.
  3. 3. 1.ChileTectonic activity in Chile is related to subduction of the NazcaPlate to the east.Chile notably holds the record for the largest earthquake everrecorded, the 1960 Valdiva earthquake.In 2008, Chile experienced two volcanic eruptions, the first onefrom Llaima Volcano and Chaiten Volcano.

United StatesIn the westernUnited States lies the Cascade Volcanic Arc.It includes nearly 20 major volcanoes, among a total of over4,000 separate volcanic vents including numerousstratovolcanoes.The most recent activity in the American portion of the Ring ofFire occurred in early 2009 when Mount Redoubt in Alaskabecame active and finally erupted late in the evening of March22.
  8. 8. ConclusionThe Pacific Ring of Fire area is possible to happen earthquake.Also Japan often happens earthquake. So these area peoplehave to be careful about earthquake. And we must measure.How to evacuate, Where to evacuate, These things arenecessary for us to live in these area.
