  • 3. Introduction● In February 27, 2010, large earthquake occurred at the coast of Chile.● This earthquake measured at magnitude 8.8.● This earthquake is the 5th largeness in the world at the time of the occurrence.
  • 4. Damage situation● The number of dead is over 800 people.● The number of disaster victim is over hundreds of thousands.● This earthquake triggered 30-meter tsunami.● This tsunami got around to Japan.
  • 5. Afterquake● Earthquake of magnitude over 4.5 ・・・326th● Earthquake of magnitude over 6.0 ・・・16thThus, a lot of afterquake occurred.
  • 6. Response to tsunami of Chile● After 19 minutes of earthquake occurrence, over 2-meter tsunami got around to Talcahuano, and cause about 500 deaths.● The main cause was delays in tsunami warning hinge on a mistake made by sea forces.
