    System that enables breathing
    many parts to help you do basic actions
    You release carbon dioxide and take in oxygen
    Blood provides body parts oxygen
    Respiratory system supplies the blood oxygen
    All parts combine keeping respiratory functioning properly
    Here are some parts of the respiratory system…
  • 3. Alveolus
    The container where air goes when inhaled
    A tiny sac like structure
    Exchange of gases occurs here
  • 4. Bronchus
    Located within the lungs
    Holds and connects the lungs and trachea together
  • 5. Trachea
    Tube like structure
    Connects voice box and lungs together
  • 6. Larynx (Voice Box)
    Area where voice sounds are made
    Made from movement of inhaling and exhaling air
  • 7. Lungs
    Produce oxygen
    Removes carbon dioxide waste
  • 8. Bronchioles
    Located within the lungs
    Connected to the bronchus
    Smallest branches of the bronchus
  • 9. Diaphragm
    Stable wall produced by muscle
    isolates abdominal cavity from chest cavity
    provides a way to inhale air and enlarge lungs
