  • 1. •Social media is a low-cost, often free way to promote your cause. People of all ages are signing up for social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. •YouTube lets people watch videos about your cause and lets them interact easily.
  • 2. Many large and small companies, nonprofit organizations and individuals have YouTube channels. Creating a channel allows you to put all your information together in one place. It adds another medium for people to get involved and interact with your cause. Also, it can serve as a great networking tool. The best part? A YouTube channel is easy to set up and it is free!

  • 4. 1. Go to www.youtube.com You should see the screen below
  • 5. 2. If you already have a YouTube channel click Sign In in the upper right corner. If you don’t have an account click Sign Up in the upper right corner.
  • 6. 3. Once you are signed in click on your username in the upper right corner. This will bring you to your channel. You should see the screen below
  • 7. 4. Click on Edit Channel in the upper left corner. This will allow you to change channel info, change the channel design and organize your videos. You should see the screen below
  • 8. Adding videos is easy 5. Click on Organize Videos. You should see the screen below
  • 9. 6. Click on upload in the upper right hand corner. You should see the screen below
  • 10. 7. When you are done making edits click on update channel.
  • 11. Nonprofit Program Many organizations quality for YouTube’s Nonprofit Program Benefits: • Premium branding capabilities and increased uploading capacity •The option to drive fundraising through a Google Checkout quot;Donatequot; button •Listing on the Nonprofit channels and the Nonprofit videos pages •Ability to add a Call-to-action overlay on your videos to drive campaigns
  • 12. Overstream •This program allows you to add captains to your videos.
  • 13. YouTube annotations •Use this to add links, etc. to your videos
  • 14. 1. Sign out of your account. 2. Search in YouTube for your organization. 3. See if anything comes up. 4. If you can find your channel make sure everything looks like you want it to!
  • 15. YouTube is a great way to promote a cause on a budget of any kind. Social media is always changing and expanding. Experiment and have fun!
