The Day of Atonement is a holy convocation held on the 10th day of the 7th month of Tisri. This is the most solemn day of the year during which we fast & offer prayers to be forgiven for our sins. To ‘atone’ means to reconcile, to make right and recompense God commands us to celebrate the Atonement each year, which points to the time when Christ will blot away our sins with his blood. The great sacrifice Christ made and the grace he has bestowed to us showcases how merciful he is.
