      • The Texas Teacher STaR Chart has been developed around the four key areas of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020

      • The Texas Teacher STaR Chart is designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of their district as well.

    • WHY THE STAR CHART?
      • The Teacher STaR Chart survey enables teachers to see what the expectations for Technology and Instruction are for all Texas teachers.

      • Assists teachers in determining professional development needs based on a current educational technology profile.
      • Determines funding priorities based on teacher and classroom needs.
      • Provide data that can support the need for grants or other resources.
      • Help conceptualize the campus or district vision of technology.
      • Assist campuses in documenting the use of No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D formula and discretionary funds.

    • NORTHSIDE ISD TIMELINE
      • Campus STaR Charts are required before the submission of the district technology plan.  
      • STaR Chart teacher data will be refreshed and CITs will send out those reminders in January for completion by the end of March.
      • April 1 st , the State will open the window for Principal self-assessment on the ISTE NETS on the Campus STaR Chart.
      • Information on that submission will be provided to Principals in the spring.
    • TIMELINE CONTINUED
      • Campus STaR Charts must be submitted prior to the submission of technology plans in the Texas e-Plan system.
      • The Texas STaR Chart system will remain open until May 30 in the event a teacher or principal opts to resubmit the STaR Chart.

    • NORTHSIDE ISD STAR CHART INSTRUCTIONS
      •   Please meet with your CIT to submit the Campus STaR Chart by December 15 th , in order for the District to later submit and qualify for e-rate funding. The Campus STaR Chart PDF is attached to this posting – pages 11-15 show the categories, which also appear in the instrument online.
      •      Access the Texas STaR Chart site at: http://www.tea.state.tx.us/starchart
      •     Username:  9-digit county district campus number.
      •            * Password: enter the password used previously (if recalled) – or use the     "Forgot Your Password" link, entering the 9-digit username. An automated reminder of the above will be sent to all Principals on 11/12/10.
