The guest speaker Eli Sorotzkin _________________________________________ October 25 - 31, 2013 RABBI’S CORNER Shabbat, Parshat Chayei Sarah Dear Young Israel Families, A few weeks ago, I was appointed to be a chaplain for the East Brunswick Police Department. As such, this past week, I was invited to deliver the invocation at the annual Police Awards Ceremony. It was particularly meaningful because the EBPD recognized the efforts of the officers and personnel who were first at the scene at last year’s tragic accident that took the lives of Ari and Sari Horowitz z’l. I, together with Harris and Hadar Bram, were able to personally hand the awards to the recipients and thank them for their efforts. Too often we view police officers as the “bad guys” who give us tickets. Being involved with the East Brunswick Police Department has given me a little glimpse into the lives and work of the dedicated men and women who serve our community. When you have the opportunity, I would like to encourage you to take a moment and thank the police officers for their service. They are truly devoted people who put their life on the line to make a big difference in our community! Best wishes for a Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Jay Weinstein ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YIEB's CASINO NIGHT AND GIFT AUCTION THIS SUNDAY October 27th at 7 PM Play with us; enjoy real casino tables and dealers, a buffet dinner and fantastic gift auction for you.
