      • What you are aiming for most of all is a good ranking on the search engines especially Google. So that when people go looking for your product, your site will appear first on the search engine’s page.

      • It makes sense to have an ad on your website for something that is updated daily (e.g The Irish Times) as Google will identify this as a changing website and will keep your rankings high.
      • Use images and videos on your site to make it “sticky”. It will pull the traffic towards your site!
      • Use blogs to advertise your site on and to keep people coming to your site.
      • Update your site regularly, Google will rank it higher the more you change it.
      • Have a subscription option for a newsletter or a membership option.This way you can build your database and keep people coming back to your site.
      • Always have a privacy policy and a “contact us” link. Google likes these.
      • Use links- internal links to other pages on your site and external links to other relevant websites. Having link-backs to your site from another website is also very beneficial.
