Boh 08 Presentation Boh 08 Presentation Presentation Transcript

  • ePortfolio Project General Overview 2008
  • Our Original Plan
  • Development of the ePortfolio
    • We wanted to work with BOH students to understand how they worked with their material so we could gain insights into the best way to structure the portfolio.
    Our Initial Approach
  • Our First Misconception We had assumed that students would see the relevance of learning how to develop a portfolio. Student feedback suggested they saw no real point in spending time on this and that it created pressure on an already busy workload.
  • We did find interest was high with staff involved in developing their professional portfolios Staff Interest
  • Two Professional Portfolios we then created We worked with staff to refine the structure and functionality
  • Growing Interest in Professional ePortfolios
  • Present Development
  • Latest ePortfolio
  • Where to in 2008
    • Investment by external funding groups – rSmart & IBM
    • Ongoing discussions with DCNZ about a national system
    • Continued testing and development of the prototype
    • Work with staff & students to develop personal portfolios
  • 2008 Invitation to Students We are looking for a small number of students keen to develop their personal portfolio. We would work with you and develop the portfolio around your requirements. The time involved will depend on how much you wish to develop your ePortfolio. If you are interested could you email me [email_address]
  • 2008 Staff We are keen to continue working with staff on refining their portfolios in 2008. We are happy to run a number of group sessions and work with you one-to-one to help you complete your first cycle.
