USAACE Family Weekly Update Page 3 Scholarship Season has begun! The Scholarships for Military Children Program will open on 1 December 2011. A minimum of one $1500 scholarship will be awarded at every commissary location where qualified applications are received. The Scholarship provides for payment of tuition, books, lab fees and other related expenses. Applications available by visiting www.militaryscholar.org. The Army Emergency Relieve (AER) offers scholarships for dependent children – MG James Ursano Scholarship and for dependent spouses – Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program. Application will be available after 1 December 2011 and are due by 2 April 2012. Application is available online at www.aerhq.org.New Career Resources for Military VetsPresident Obama and the Department of Labor are working to create programs for out of work military veterans.Three new programs have been created:My Next Move for Veterans – ever wonder how your military skills translate into a civilian job?
