Problem Solving Case Study
You are working as an employment counsellor for a local community agency. A young woman comes into your office. She has just come from her workplace and is very upset. When she arrived at the factory gate this morning to report for her shift, there was a large sign up. It said, “The Company is in receivership, all employees are on indefinite layoff until further notice”. There was no one available to answer any questions at the work site. She is a single parent with two school age children. Payday was supposed to be today. She has $25.00 in money. Tomorrow is the 1st of the month; she needs $1,000 immediately to cover her expenses. She has no immediate family in the area.
Brainstorm of all the possible supports she will need.
