    3. Introduction s: “Coffee Time”
      • Start by sharing your name & where you live.
      • Tell us if you drink coffee and why you do or do not. If you prefer a different hot beverage, why do you drink that?
    4. Course Outcomes
      • Implement information and referral sources for the development of prerequisite career entry skills and access appropriate community social support systems.
      • Explain the nature of career options in the new economy and describe the processes of counselling for work options.
      • Describe the stages of the job search process and the relationship of the counsellor, client and employer.
      • Identify the work search readiness of a client and describe the counsellor skills required to assess client readiness and assist in the work search process.
      • Discuss job loss theory and job loss stages in relation to different client groups.
      • Self-evaluate competencies through the processes of: action learning logs, self-reflection, peer dialogue, and identify further learning steps to be taken in ongoing professional development.
      • Interact effectively in work groups that contribute to successful working relationships and goal achievement.

    9. Introduction to Decision Making
      • Consider 5 decisions you have made in your life (e.g. accepting a job, taking an educational program, choosing an apartment, making a major purchase, etc.)
      • Assess how you made that decision (e.g. it felt right, I analysed the options, etc.)
      • Choose 3 of these decisions, which are most distinct or different (in other words, try not to pick 3 decisions that are similar in style)
      • Write down your 3 decisions and share them on the Discussion Board over the next few days.
      • I will compile this and we shall discuss it next week.
