Service-oriented architecture, or SOA, is well-known as a way to structure IT systems. It has obvious connections with enterprise-architecture: a key theme of TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) conferences has been about how IT-architecture underpins SOA. Yet SOA can - and must - be about more than just IT.
