Hi, for slide 25 you use a sort of table with big areas which I find cleared to read than the interconnected boxes figure seen on other ppts of your organisation (namely the business model template). That table way of drawing it is by the way more practical for drawing in word processor apps I'd say. When people start complaining about the number of slides, you can already tell that they probably create "death by ppt" stuff. The problem with limiting the number of slides is that you end up using less pictures and more text-exactly what this presentation is telling you not to do. This presentation uses the "one bullet point per slide" method which makes it a lot more engaging. As far as delivery, time-wise, it should be the same as giving a presentation with (ugh) multiple bullet pointed slides. Again, the number of slides is irrelevant. This also does not look like "hundreds of others." Quite the opposite; it does not look like a "death by ppt" presentation which definitely comprises the majority! Just look at the examples on this site!

Esta presentación, aparentemente de una gran longitud, resultó ser muy interesante y entretenida. La longitud de la presentación de debe a ejemplos gráficos que ayudan a plasmar más fácilmente y rápidamente la idea, además de agregarle en ciertos casos un toque humorístico. Me pareció interesante que se tocan temas del curso como los métodos generación de ideas en la parte de las Relaciones Forzadas. Otro aspecto de interés, es que al final de la presentación hay anexos para quien quiero más información respecto a algún tema. Esto habla mucho del creador de la presentación y su consideración con sus posibles lectores. En general me pareció una muy buena presentación y un gran refuerzo para los temas del curso, es muy recomendable para quienes sospechen de fallas en su modelo de negocio o quienes ni siquiera tengan uno. Considero que esta presentación tiene bastante relación con el contenido del curso ya que además de tocar el punto del modelo de negocios, también habla acerca de cómo innovar en él para obtener mejores resultados. Como lo vimos en clase, se pueden utilizar varias técnicas para aplicar la creatividad, algunas de las cuales se ejemplifican y quedan muy claras con los casos de la última parte de la presentación. Este tipo de recursos me parecen muy buenos ya que son prácticos y se puede obtener el material en línea. Tiene la ventaja de que podrían enriquecerse con los comentarios de otras personas que pueden compartir información adicional en este espacio. Me pareció muy interesante esta presentación ya que explica de forma muy fácil de entender, los detalles que se deben de considerar al desarrollar o modificar (innovar) un modelo de negocios. Estas diapositivas fueron un excelente complemento a lo visto durante la clase, y en mi opinión las debimos haber visto durante el parcial pasado (que fue cuando vimos modelos de negocio) Por último,me llamo mucho la atención que pusieron de ejemplo algunos modelos de negocios de empresas famosas ya existentes como lo es el caso de skype. Considero que utilizar herramientas de apoyo como esta presentación para reafirmar los temas vistos en clase, en este caso específicamente hablando del plan de negocios, es muy útil y se debería de fomentar aún más, para no quedarnos simplemente con lo visto en clase, y analizar el mismo tema pero talvez desde otra perspectiva o mejor dicho explicado de manera diferente. La forma en la que se muestran los ejemplos en los que se le hacen modificaciones a los modelos de negocio se me hace muy similar a la que se usa en la técnica Merlín ya que básicamente se trata de que a partir de una idea ya clara, podemos hacerle ciertas modificaciones para mejorarla. En general la presentación me gustó pero a mi parecer le hizo falta la explicación de algunos de los pasos que se realizan cuando se modifican los modelos de ejemplo, ya que al inicio es fácil poder seguir la idea, pero conforma van avanzando los ejemplos es difícil analizar lo que se esta presentando. Por último, hablando un poco sobre la forma en que se presenta esta información, se me hace muy interesante ya que permite mostrar el conocimiento de una manera muy flexible, en muchos lugares se puede sacar mucho provecho de ellos, por ejemplo en las empresas, los expertos pueden plasmar información en este tipo de "almacenes" para que otras personas puedan aprender sobre algún tema. Esta presentación en especial podría resultar de gran ayuda para las personas que se encuentran en la etapa de creación de un negocio, ya que muestra la importancia de crear un plan de negocios así como los pasos a seguir para realizarlo e implementarlo exitosamente. Había visto páginas similares para compartir información, por dar un ejemplo la multifamosa youtube, pero creo que nunca había entrado a una especializada en diapositivas. El tener acceso a información es importante, pero lo más sobresaliente es su uso. Lo que me agrada de esta presentación es que hace ver de forma clara lo relevante que es la planeación en cualquier proceso creativo o de empresa. El tener una empresa consolidada no quiere decir que ya no se debean o puedan hacer cambios y estos cambios, deben ser programados o planeados para su mejor implementación. Para la materia de emprendedor es importante conocerlo; pues basados en que el emprendedor es todo aquel que toma una decisión y es responsable de ella hasta sus últimas consecuencias. Me parece que esta presentación es totalmente útil tanto para mi vida laboral como para mi vida personal. Las herramientas que nos ofrece esta presentación, son fáciles de seguir y la verdad es que la presentación es muy fácil de digerir, o sea, los términos y los ejemplos que vienen están en un lenguaje cotidiano. Me parece una manera diferente de organizar y darle forma a una nueva idea. Me pareció interesante que compararan la forma convencional de desarrollar una idea y después explicara los puntos que no se toman en consideración. Esta nueva forma de planear está muy bien explicada, ya que los ejemplos te ayudan a entender cada parte. Además al presentarlo como pasos, se pueden seguir fácilmente. Business performance is dependent upon three things: the business design, the implementation of the design and the execution of the design. 80% of the time, when a company is experiencing performance issues it can be traced back to the design of the business. Problem is, people have not known how to document the design and thus do not know where their problem exists. Since they can't see the design they invest their money in execution solutions (IT systems, training programs,...). And this is the reason why executives are so disappointed in the ROI they receive from such initiatives. They are applying execution improvements to an obsolete design and they will never get the performance they are seeking. They need a set of business blueprints which are possible to create in just a matter of weeks.

Consideration of social and ecological impacts of business, social entrepreneurship and social business are all becoming increasingly relevant. I wonder then, if, additional questions may be 'why?' 'for what ultimate benefit for society / earth?'. These questions may be considered within 'who?', in a way. But are really about the larger mission of the organisation (e.g. as documented in Collins and Porras 'Good to Great', and are really beyond the boundaries of this 'closed system' representation of an organisation's core logic (business model). What do you think?

Absolutely one of the best mechanics of business model design I have seen. I think you need a metaphor. It's like building an engine - there are inputs, outputs, externalities. You also need to bring it down to brass tacks - "so, what exactly are you going to SELL ? to WHOM ?" that kind of language might break through some torpor. love the images and the little-text-on-a-slide - this would be a pleasure to present live ! -srini kumar metanotes.com

The presentation presents an interesting way of looking at business models. However the structure of how one gets to the right business model could be more consumer focused. One gets the best business models by looking at the latent needs of the consumer and with this input formulating a value prop in stead of just thinking what do we have to offer?
