Pronunciation of the final -s The final –s of the third person of singular in the present simple and the plurals of nouns can be pronounced in three diferent ways : /s/ /z/ /iz/ These are sounds. They are not letters This is the sound made by a snake (serpiente) This is the sound made by a bee (abeja )
    2. The difference between the sounds /s/ and /z/ is very small, what is really important is to know how to pronounce the /iz/ sound The s is pronounced /iz/ in verbs and nouns which end in these sounds /tʃ,dʒ, ʃ, ʒ, s, z /
    3. Examples /fɒksiz/ foxes oranges/ɒrindʒiz/ boxes/bɒksiz/ dishes/diʃiz/ churches /tʃ3:tʃiz/ roses/rəʊziz/ glasses/gla:siz/
