    • Using the computer, overhead, etc., for presenting information.
    • A PowerPoint presentation by a teacher, teachers aide, classmate, etc (yawn).
    • The students typing a paper.
  • 4. WHY ISN’T TECHNOLOGY USE NOT ENOUGH FOR THE STUDENTS?
    • The technology needs to be part of their learning.
    • When students develop databases, for instance, they are constructing their own conceptualization of the organization of a content domain. How we construct knowledge depends upon we already know, which depends on the kinds of experiences that we have had, how we have organized those experiences
    • into knowledge structures, and what we believe about what we know.

    • Technology integration, as defined by the National Forum on Education Statistics (2005), Forum Unified Education Technology Suite , "is the incorporation of technology resources and technology-based practices into the daily routines, work, and management of schools“ (According to Technology Integration Part 1)
  • 7. TECHNOLOGY INTERGRATION IS…
    • “… when students work with computer technologies, instead of being controlled by them, they enhance the capabilities of the computer, and the computer enhances their thinking and learning.” - Jonassen, Carr, Yueh
