Exceeding Expectations? Beating the odds? This is designed for internal PdC Public School use onlyAll data is available at DPI WINNS
Research has shown that generally schools with lower poverty rates outperform those with higher poverty levels.
Therefore, if we take the WKCE data in math by grade level andrank CESA 3 schools - in theory, the schools with lower free/reduced counts should have higher scores.
1. Rank CESA 3 schools on theWKCE Advanced percentages inmath by grade level (reading willbe done later if we find this to beof value)2. Rank CESA 3 schools on thefree/ reduced counts by grade
If we subtract the WKCE advancedrank from the free/reduced rank;this should roughly give us anumerical ranking of how well theschools do according toexpectations and approximatewhich schools may be beating theodds
This is not designed to be an overlyscientific statistical analysis, but itis information that may be usefulfor planning or comparison withother programs.
As noted in the beginning, we needto be careful as to what conclusions can be gained from this data. However, when analyzing programsor materials, it might be prudent tolook toward those who are beating the odds
