The soundtrack of this trailer is what builds the tension, the noise at the beginning of the trailer is very minimal which makes the audience focus on the action on screen. Then high tension music fades into the trailer to build suspense. I like that thistrailer doesn’t give away too much of the actual story but hints and themes to the films general narrative. I think the night vision camera effect gives the trailer a more personal feel, like a home video this could build interest in the film as it’s more like real life. This aspect is used to build the horror as audiences feel like it could happen to them. The fast pace editing of the shots creates suspense which is crucial to the genre of the film as the style is horror. By showing the audiencereaction from the first film it shows it believes to duplicate that reaction with this sequel. By showing shocked and scared reactions the audience will expect to respond like that when watching this film.
-hand held camera mean much more personal element to the trailer, about the people and their reactions etc. -doesn’t give away too much of the storyline, builds anticipation -explosions which will appeal to people who enjoy action, special effects give them a taste of what sort of stuff will be included in the film -no title in the trailer, builds hype

I thought this was a good trailer because it is specifically aimed at a younger audience, promotes a fun, family film. It works especially well as it reintroduces the all the main characters because the last film was 10 years ago, it also highlights individual characteristics of the toys which again works at familiarizing to older audiences who would have grown up with these films. It also includes humor in order to attract the new younger audience would may not have been old enough when Toy Story one and two were released. The familiar theme tune is also incorporated and this is key to linking this filmto the last two.

- “I was fourteen, when I was murdered.” strong line from the film changes the tone of the trailer quickly. Gives away the main idea of the movie however suggests it’s more about the after effects of this statement. -set in the 1970s, effects used to create the feel and age of the film
