  • Last week we worked on finding out where our animals live. Let’s review using maps. Can someone tell me from looking at this map, where lions live?
  • Here’s another map from the books we’re working with. This one shows where different kinds of tigers live. Can you tell me where the Siberian Tiger lives? (Have students point on slide)

    1. 1. Have you seen this red panda? It has escaped from the Boston Zoo! Description: it is slightly larger than a cat and has reddish-brown fur and a long tail. Warning: Don’t worry, red pandas only eat bamboo (and also berries, fruit, mushrooms, acorns and grasses) and are not dangerous to humans. If found, call the Boston Zoo at 888-888-8888. Known Hideout: Red pandas can found from Nepal in the West to China in the East. It can also be found in Northern India and Northern Myanmar.
    2. 2. Red Alert Have you seen this flying squirrel? It has escaped from the Boston Zoo! Description: A flying squirrel is about 5-7 inches long and has soft brown fur and black eyes. Warning: Duck and take cover! It may be seen gliding! Don’t worry flying squirrels only eat nuts and berries and are not dangerous to humans. If found, call the Boston Zoo at 888-888-8888. Known Hideout: Flying squirrels can found in pine forests in Canada and the Eastern United States. Get out your night vision goggles. They only come out at night.
