  3. 3. JOB SUMMARY<br /> Administer nursing care to patients receiving hemodialysis treatments in an efficient, safe, and courteous manner using proper nursing procedures, basic knowledge of ESRD and its tretament necessary.<br />
  4. 4. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />Delivery of Nursing care via the nursing process to the ESRD patient.<br />Practice within ReNAP Standards and Guidelines of Clinical Practice<br />Initiate a patient plan of care on admission and revise as needed.<br />
  5. 5. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />Assist patient, physician and peers in determining long and short term goals.<br />Carry out medical and nursing treatment in a timely and accurate manner.<br />Maintain knowledge of the patient’s status during his dialysis treatment and work with health care team to adjust and improve his care.<br />

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />Maintain knowledge of telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation<br />Supervised trainees in delivery of care<br />Exhibit cooperation and positive attitude toward other hospital departments.<br />Follow procedures to assure that supply and medication stocks are rotated and replaced as used.<br />
  7. 7. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />Document medications and Nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.<br />Assure that consents are obtained as necessary.<br />Complete incident and error forms when appropriate.<br />Assist physician in the care of patients. <br />
  8. 8. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />Follow procedure for medication administration and narcotics control. <br />Assume professional responsibility for assuring patient care is of the highest standards possible.<br />Competent in all dialysis related procedures and skills.<br />
  9. 9. SECONDARY FUNCTION<br />Participate in inservice programs as both student and teacher. Take primary responsibility for keeping own knowledge and skills current.<br />work with other departments in coordinating smooth transfer of patients for procedures or diagnostic test.<br />Participate in monthly departmental meetings and resuscitation drills.<br />Assist in peer and staff evaluations when requested.<br />Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in delivery of patient care.<br />Assist nursing staff in other departments as requested and qualified when need arises.<br />Maintain a current yearly CPR status.<br />
