  7. 7. 7 C&C08 Description  Vendors: C&C08  Racks Alignment: 0 To 11  Rack Profile: • Rack#01 = 6 frames • Rack 4-9 = 4 frames • Missing 2,3,10, It is standard.  Profile of C&C08  Length: 2100 mm Width: 800 mm Depth: 550 mm  Maximal Capacity : 800,000 subscriber lines or 180,000 DT  Local, Tandem, Toll, International Exchanges  Four Parts of C&C08 LAN Switch, Display ,Converter and Server.  Eight HCTE in Bahawalpur, Multan, Lahore, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Islamabad.

  9. 9. 9 C&C08 Main Modules Description  Front AM (FAM)  It manage the inter SIM call connection and interfaces of terminal system like ticket recording and traffic statistics.  Back AM (BAM)  It deals O&M open terminal network that is based on TCP/IP protocol. It is stored all the databases and programs also.  Integrated GateWay for Billing (IGWB)  It is used to save the billing data.
  10. 10. 10 C&C08 Main Modules Description  Switching Module  It is Independent Switching function, handles traffic intra modules; provide various services interface; perform functions like database management, call processing , maintenance and operation.  Remote Switching Module  Same as SM, difference is that SM links through 40 meter optical interface while RSM has standard E1 interface and may use SDH, especially STM-1.
  11. 11. 11 Main Logical Module In C&C08  Service Processing Module  Connected with BAM directly using 10/100Mbs TCP/IP interface and works with the interface of SDH (STM-1) and E1 to provide interfaces of trunks and AM.  Shared Resources Module  It provides DTMF devices, Signal Tones, Conference telephone device and CID display device required by all the SPMs in the whole office.

  13. 13. 13 Hardware Description  ET16 (Electrical Transmission )  It is electrical Interface. It provide 16 E1s.  Synchronous Transfer Unit (STU)  It is optical interface. It provide Synchronous Transfer Module (STM-1 ( 63 E1s)).  QSI  It is used for internal Communication. It collect data from ET16 and STU, communicate in the switch(HCTE C&C08)  PoWer Controller (PWC)  It provide DC power to semi frame. There are two PWC boards are used in the frame. It give 5,12,24 and 48 Volts to different boards.
  14. 14. 14 Hardware Description  Media Highway Interface(MHI)  It is used as bus to deliver control signal in the whole switch(HCTE C&C08).  Communication Module (CM)  It is main module which control the exchange. It is further divided into two section.  CNU  It is communication/control Network Unit.  SNU  It is switching network unit.  ALarm Module(ALM)  It generate alarm.
  15. 15. 15 Hardware Description  Central Processing Card(CPC)  It is used to provide signaling Links. One card can provide four signal link. One signal Link can handle 4096 channels.  Service Processing Card (SPC)  It is main card of SPM. It is used in pair master and slave. It can configure 128 E1’s.  SPD  It is main card of SRM. It provide DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency).  Bus DriveR(BDR)  It provide buses for communication of signals.
  16. 16. 16 Hardware Description  SPT  It is also part of SRM. It provide announcements.  ClocK Synchronization(CKS)  It generate clock pulse. It is part of CKM.  ClocK Digital(CKD)  It is used to synchronize the clock in E1s as time slot-0.  Fast Switching Network(FSN)  It is used for Switching Purpose.  PWX ( Power Distributor)  It is used to distribute/Control the power.
  17. 17. 17 Hardware Description  Back Address Controller(BAC)  It is used as communication controller. It is main board of CCM.  Analog Subscriber Line(ASL)  It is subscriber Card. It’s capacity of 16 subscribers.  Remote Switching Processor(RSP)  It’s main function to communicate between SM and LIM Frame (ET16 card).
