  2. 2. The challenges, of transporting wine harmlessly are as old as the wine history is.<br />The NeumagenWine Ship – about 2,000 years old<br />
  3. 3. Dolia<br />These amazing clay containers have been used to store and transport wine in the Western Mediterranean.<br />
  4. 4. In 17th century, Britain started importing wine from Portugal. But the wine couldn’t survive the long journey back to Britain.<br />
  5. 5. In ancient times, there were very limited resources for carrying wine. And there was nothing to control temperature effectively.<br />
  6. 6. Barrels have always been used for storage and transportation of wine and, are very useful in maintaining the temperature to a great extant.<br />
  7. 7. The wine carriers always have challenges in making sure, the wine isn’t exposed to any heat or temperature.<br />
  8. 8. Humidity is another factor that the transporters have to control. The humidity should remain between 50 and 80 % in transit. <br />
  9. 9. The transporters prevent excessive shaking during the transportation of wine. <br />
  10. 10. After each delivery, the carrier tanks need standard cleaning before filling it again with wine.<br />
  11. 11. I can also enjoy wine like humans do……….CHEERS !<br />
  12. 12. There are certain microbiological tests that need to be performed on wine after loading and before unloading it from carrier tanks.<br />
  13. 13. A Good Wine<br />Wine is very precious. As it takes a lot of efforts, time and skills to make a good wine. It’s true that most of the wines deteriorate during its transportation. Hence, transportation becomes an extremely critical part of A Good Wine.<br />Cheers !!!!<br />
