    • THE ASTURIAN COAST AND CLIFFS
    • ASTURIAN COASTLINE
      • Asturias is in the north of Spain, we have three hundred and fifty kilometers of beautiful coast. Asturian cliffs are characterized by being high, big and very abrupt. We also have a lot of important capes such as the Peña’s cape. Besides we can see lovely beaches which are admired both for their beauty and fauna.
      • The sea influences the inhabitant’s way of life of Asturias. Today it continues being an important resource for our economy; in the past it was through fishing and at present our coast attracts a lot people due to its beauty.
      A WAY OF LIFE
    • ASTURIAN COAST
      • The Asturian coast presents splendid and diverse landscapes which are composed by beaches, creeks and cliffs. From urban beaches to beaches situated in the middle of nature: sand dunes, protected land scapes , natural monuments… It is divided in three parts: Western, Central area and Eastern as you can see in the map.
      • In conclusion, the Asturian coast is considered an authentic natural paradise.
    • EASTERN ASTURIAN COAST
      • Eastern coast:
      • From a touristic point of view, the beaches which are in the Eastern coast of Asturias are the most visited places . Some of the most beautiful and admired beaches are :
      • Buelna beach, Torimbia beach, Gulpiyuri beach, Celoriu beach,
      • Poo beach.
      • Buelna Beach :
      • This beach is situated in Llanes, a town council from Asturias. It is safety in high tides and it is “a protected beach”. It is 50 metres long.
    • EASTERN COASTLINE
      • Torimbia beach
      • Torimbia beach is situated near Niembro , it forms a half circle and it’s around half a kilometre long.
Gulpiyuri beach Gulpiyuri is situated in Llanes too. It’s a small beach which seems like a salty swimming pool. It is frequented by nudist people.
    • WESTERN ASTURIAN COAST
      • The western seaboard is very different in appearance to the eastern coast. The land is older and its mountainous formation is not so abupt. The sierras going down to the coast (Los Vientos, Buseco, Bobia) are a series of mountains which have rounded profiles and have been worn down by erosion . Beautiful beaches of this part of Asturias are : Aguilar beach, Concha de Artedo beach, Barquera beach.
      • La Barquera beach:
      • It is situated between Cudillero and Novellana. It is a stony, peaceful and very beautiful beach.
    • WESTERN COASTLINE
      • “ El Aguilar” beach
      • It is situated near Cudillero, it is a very long beach in a lovely scenery.
Cudillero village It is an old and active fishing port made up of a conglomarate of glass- enclosed galleries and different level roofs.
      • The two areas of the Asturian coast (western and eastern) are divided by Cape Peñas, the northernmost point in our region, set a promontory of over one hundred metres. This area includes cities as Gijón or Avilés.
      THE CENTRAL COASTLINE
