The Five-Fold Ministry The Five-Fold Ministry Presentation Transcript

  • By Pastor Ron Millevo
  • EPHESIANS 4:11-13  "And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
  • MARK 16:15-16 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
  • ROMANS 10:13-17  13 For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.  14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?  15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!  17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
  • 7-FOLD PURPOSE OF THE FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the : (1) perfecting of the saints, for the  (2) work of the ministry,  for the (3) edifying of the body of Christ:  Till we all (4) come in the unity of the faith,  and (5) of the knowledge of the Son of God,  (6) unto a perfect man,  (7) unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
  • The WORD BRIDEGROOM “ Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” REV. 19:7 NINE FRUITS But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance “Let the mind of Christ be in you.” HEAD BODY NINE GIFTS Word of Wisdom; Knowledge; Faith; Divine Healing; Miracles; Prophesy; Discernment; Tongues; Interpretation 1 Cor 12:7-11 (Gal.5:22-23) FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY APOSTLES, PROPHETS, EVANGELISTS, PASTORS, TEACHERS
  •  WORK OF THE MINISTRY  MATTHEW 20:25-28- "But Jesus called them, and said, "Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
  • UNITY IN THE FAITH  I CORINTHIANS 1:12-13 - Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?  I CORINTHIANS 1:10 - Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
  • THE GOALS OF PREACHING  Preaching is the main work of God’s servants. Preaching has the following components:         1. INFORMATION Creating awareness amongst people about the Word of God; introducing the Gospel of Truth to the whole world 2. INSTRUCTION Acquiring of knowledge by the people through a clear understanding the mysteries of the Scriptures 3. ACCEPTANCE By faith, people must be lead to believe (and obey) the Word of God as Absolute Truth 4. MOTIVATION Motivating people by offering them an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour for salvation and forgiveness of sins 5. PERSUASION The assertion of Biblical truths and principles into people's lives in order for them to be counted worthy for the Kingdom
  • Greek lexicon - euaggelizo {yoo-ang-ghel-id'-zo} -- to preach the good news  -- to proclaim glad tidings  -- to instruct men concerning the things that pertain to Christian salvation; Jesus Christ as having suffered death on the cross procured eternal salvation for the believers in the kingdom of God 
  •  ROMANS 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  EPHESIANS 1:13  In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.
  •  ROMANS 16:25-26  Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith.
  • I THESSALONIANS 1:5  For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost.  II TIMOTHY 1:8  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God.
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW JOHN 3:16-19  16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved…  19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW JOHN 5:24 “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW SIN UNBELIEF DISOBEDIENCE ROMANS 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. ROMANS 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW SIN JESUS CHRIST I JOHN 2:2 - And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. ROMANS 3:24-25- Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW     MEDIATOR* I TIM 2:5- “For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; REDEEMER* ISAIAH 59:20- “And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. SAVIOUR AND LORD* LUKE 2:11- For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. ADVOCATE* - I JOHN 2:1 - And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW   “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself. I TIMOTHY 3:16 – “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh.” II CORINTHIANS 5:19-
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW   – “In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: COLOSSIANS 2:9- For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. COLOSSIANS 1:14, 15
  • THE GOSPEL IN PLAIN VIEW   – “And [there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; [there is] none beside me. HEBREWS 9:22 – “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” ISAIAH 45:21
  • THE “3 OFFICES” OF GOD LORD (FATHER) JESUS (SON) CHRIST (HOLY SPIRIT)  FATHERHOOD  SPIRIT  ETERNAL  OMNIPOTENT  OMNISCIENT  INFINITE • • • • SONSHIP SAVIOUR HEALER HAD BEGINNING
  • THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST (HUSBAND) & THE CHURCH (WIFE) EPHESIANS 5:23, 30, 31, 32 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES APOSTLES PROPHETS EVANGELISTS PASTORS TEACHERS
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES APOSTLES  The word "apostle" means "one that's sent.” A missionary is an apostle. The word "missionary" means "one sent." The apostle is a special man. He's a setter-inorder. He's a man that's sent from God to set the things in order.
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES PROPHETS  The prophet is a special man. A prophet is a man of whom the Word of the Lord comes to. He has “Thus SAITH THE LORD”. A prophet foresees way off things that are coming. He sees the cup of God's wrath, full, before it is filled. Prophets are foreordained.
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES PROPHETS Bible said, "If there be one among you spiritual or a prophet, I, the Lord, will make Myself known unto him, speak to him in visions, and reveal Myself in dreams. And if what this man says comes to pass, then hear him, for I am with him. If it doesn't, then don't hear him. I'm not with him. Don't fear him."  The DEUTERONOMY 18:20-22
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES PROPHETS  (1) “SEER” OF VISIONS; (2) HAS “THUS SAITH THE LORD” ; (3) HAS A GIFT OF DISCERNMENT; (4) CAN PROPHESY AND COMES TO PASS; (5) CAN INTERPRET DREAMS; (6) STAYS SOLIDLY IN THE WORD; (7) TAKES NO GLORY UPON HIMSELF
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES EVANGELISTS  The evangelist is a man that's burning like a fireball. He runs into a city and preaches his message, and gets out of there again to go somewhere else to preach. He brings revival amongst churches and preaches convicting messages amongst sinners.
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES PASTORS  The pastor is the burden-bearer; he's the ox of the team .  The full and complete authority of the church is the pastor. That’s the order of the Bible. There's no one above the elder. The elder is the man. Bishop is the office of the man.
  •  PASTORAL QUALIFICATIONS (I TIMOTHY 3:17) ¶ This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.  2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;  3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;  4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;  5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)  6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.  7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
  • APOSTLE PETER HAD A WIFE MATTHEW And 8:14 - when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES TEACHERS  The teacher is a special man. He sets back under the anointing of the Spirit and is able to take the Words and put them together by the Holy Spirit, that the pastor or evangelist either one could not compare with him.  Preaching usually catches the sinner, brings him under condemnation by the Word. But teaching places a man positionally what he is. And we can never rightly be able to have faith until positionally we know what we are.
  • DEFINITION OF OFFICES TEACHERS  Paul told Timothy, "Study It, rightly dividing the Word of God which is Truth."  There's three musts in the Scripture. In using God's Word there is three things that we must not do.. We must not misinterpret the Word. You say, "Well, I believe It means this." It means just what it says. It needs no interpreter.  We must not misplace the Word.  And we must not dislocate the Word (Heb 13:8). And if we would do either of these, it throws the whole Bible in a confusion and in a chaos.
  • BIBLICAL QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER OF GOD
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER  1. CALLED, ELECTED AND ORDAINED BY GOD ( NOT BY MEN )  JEREMIAH 1:5 - Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  EPHESIANS 1:1 - Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.  II PETER 1:10 - “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER  2. SENT BY GOD  NOT BY MEN (Where’s the loyalty?) Not handpicked by men like Matthias  NOT BY ANY DENOMINATIONAL SYSTEM (“MEAL TICKET” is never an issue for preaching  MATTHEW 22:14- “For many are called, but few [are] chosen.”
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER 3. NO COMPROMISER OF THE WORD  GALATIANS 1:8- "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.“  ROMANS 3:4- "Yea, let God be true, but every man a liar.“  Full Gospel, Full Word, Biblical
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER  4. VINDICATED BY GOD AND GIFTED NOT JUST RUNNING WITH SOME SEMINARY EXPERIENCE OR WITH SOME BIBLE SCHOOL THEOLOGY BUT BY THE DEMONSTRATION OF THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST  ROMANS 11:29 - “For the gifts and calling of God [are] without repentance.” JOHN 14:12- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER  4. VINDICATED BY GOD AND GIFTED  MATTHEW 10:7-8 -"And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.  MARK 16:17-18 - And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER  5. A HUMBLE SERVANT  MATTHEW 20:25-28- "But Jesus called them, and said, "Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
  • QUALIFICATIONS OF A TRUE MINISTER WALKING IN THE PRESENT TRUTH  6.  PSALMS 86:11— “ Teach me Thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth..”  II PETER 1:12 – “ Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know [them], and be established in the present truth.”
  • “Now, everybody can't be a preacher, but you got a voice… If you're a preacher, you're called to the pulpit to preach. If you're not, you're still a preacher, but live the people a sermon. Let your sermon be lived, and it's the voice of God that'll bring reproach to them who reject it. See, live your sermons. Don't try to preach them if you're NOT called to be a preacher; get all mixed up, anyhow, and messed up, and you'll get people tangled up, and you won't know... Well, you'll ruin them and yourself too. Just live your sermon. The preacher's called to preach his and to live it too. If you can't live it, then stop preaching it. But you're supposed to live your sermons.  (REV.CHAP.4.PT.3.THRONE.MERCY.title JEFF.IN ROJC 645-716 61-0108)
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER  1. HE MUST EDIFY AND UNIFY THE BODY OF CHRIST  2. HE MUST NOT BRING DIVISION NOR CONTENTION(S) TO THE BODY OF CHRIST
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER  3. HE MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST I CORINTHIANS 2:4-5- "And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should NOT stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER  4. HE MUST LEAD THE CHURCH UNTO PERFECT LOVE  MATTHEW 5:43-47- "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER  5. HE MUST BRING CONVICTION TO SINNERS  II TIMOTHY 4:2-4- "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER 6. HE MUST BE ABLE TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE  LUKE 4:18-19- "The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER      7. HE MUST LEAD THE PEOPLE TO BECOME OVERCOMERS HEBREWS 12:1-2- "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the RACE that is set before us, Looking unto JESUS the AUTHOR and FINISHER of [our] faith." I JOHN 2:15-16 – "Love NOT the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the LOVE of the Father is NOT in him. For ALL that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is NOT of the Father, but is of the world. ROMANS 12:2- "And be NOT conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." II CORINTHIANS 12:9- 10- "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER  8. HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO PREPARE THE PEOPLE FOR THE RAPTURE I THESSALONIANS 4:15-18 - "For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a SHOUT, with the VOICE of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRUE MINISTER  9. HE MUST BRING HONOR & GLORY TO JESUS CHRIST ALONE (… not to any man, group, system, nor denomination)  GALATIANS 6:14 - "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.  I THESSALONIANS 2:6 - "Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor [yet] of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ."
  • WOMEN PREACHERS?  1 Corinthians 14:34-37 states: "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.“  1 Timothy 2:11-15 clearly states: "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."
  • WARNING ON FALSE TEACHERS  MATTHEW 24:24- For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.  MATTHEW 7:15- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  ACTS 20:29-30- For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.  ROMANS 16:17- Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
  • THE NICOLAITANES SYSTEM REVELATION 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. REVELATION 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
  • NICOLAITANES SYSTEM  Nicolaitane, comes from two Greek words: Nikao which means "to conquer", and Lao which means "the laity".  Nicolaitane means, "to conquer the laity".  The Nicolaitane doctrine was "the corruption of the clergy as they sought political power amongst themselves.”  Nicolaitanism is organization, humanizing the leadership of the church, and thereby deposing the Spirit. Man over man.
